Step 1
Using your KitchenAid Mixer or traditional stand mixer, combine all the ingredients together, except the chocolate chips. Then add the chocolate chips.

Allow the batter to mix for a few more minutes. The batter will be thick.

Pour the batter into the cake pan of your choice that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 4
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes and then remove and place on a wire rack to cool completely while you prepare the chocolate glaze.
Step 6
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
Step 7
Add the remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
Step 8
Depending on the consistency of icing you desire, you may need to add more milk.
Step 9
Drizzle the icing over the cake.
