Mix Velveeta, Ro-Tel, and cooked pork sausage together in a microwave-safe bowl.


Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Stir, and microwave until Velveeta is completely melted, about 2 more minutes.


It's great; I make it all the time. The only change that I would make is I melt a stick of butter (not margarine) and then cube 2# of velveeta up and add to the butter. Stir until the cheese is melted. The butter makes the cheese creamier. I then add the 1# of cooked and drained "hot" sausage and 1 can of drained rotel.  So delicious.

I made this with ground beef and mexican velveeta. It was very good. The next day I reheated the leftovers and added penne pasta. Had some very good mac and cheese

This dip came out delicious. I used a pound of sausage and also 3 slices of american cheese and a stick of butter. I melted the cheese in the microwave and added everything to the croc pot to stay warm until later. Great recipe.

This is an awesome dip.  I use sausage or ground beef and I also add a block of cream cheese to the pot.   Because cream cheese makes everything better, right?

I forgot how sinfully good this is.  I prepped this the day before Super Bowl, on top of the stove.  Could have eaten a bowl right then!  Microwaved for our scoops at lunch.  Then had ham and cheese sliders for our party for 2.  He asked me to make the dip more often.  I used leftovers on top of fried potatoes and he had some on top of his burger.  You can't go wrong with this dip.

I added 1/4 stick of butter to make it creamier. I also added  1/2 can Ro*tel diced tomatoes with chilis and 1/2 cup mild salsa as we don't like it too spicy hot. Wonderful recipe thanks for sharing.

A great recipe for people allergic to onion and garlic!! I passed out the recipe to friends who tried it!

This is a staple in our home for parties. Everyone loves this dip!  We've did half and half with the meat before (half sausage, half ground beef) and used salsa instead of the tomatoes (just to change it up once and awhile.) We haven't found a way we didn't like it yet!

I made two changes based on what I had handy. I used taco seasoned beef because I already had some. The other change I made was the Ro-tel, I used the Chipotle flavor. This gave it a whole new flavor that went over very well at a friends birthday party. The sausage recipe would benefit from this, and I'm thinking of trying the Fire Roasted tomatoes next. I've come to the conclusion that this recipe is very hard to mess up. I love this because it's SO easy to make.

I love a chunky queso, so I added two cans of black beans, two cans of pinto beans, two cups of kernel corn, one onion diced, one small can diced green chilies, and used Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage.  My family loves it and I've been asked for the recipe multiple times. Yum!!

I was looking forward to this party because I knew they would have this delicious dip! I loved it and asked I  for the recipe! Will try making soon.

I added 2 tablespoons of sour cream and a table spoon of diced jalapenos.... Yummmm....

This is one of those dips where people say, "Wow!" and think you're much more talented than simply throwing everything into a crock pot.  I highly recommend this.  

I'm going to experiment with adding some amount of ground beef to this too.

Added a package of cream cheese and cooked it all on the stove in the same pan. Makes it thicker. I don't even like sausage and I absolutely love this along with everyone who tried it. Always getting asked for the recipe!!

My mom has been making this for me for as long as I can remember. She passed away 7 years ago &amp; this recipe never fails to remind me of her. One of an all time favorites in my family!

Making this for years. I do a pound of sausage per pound of Velveeta. You need to use hot sausage as well as hot Rotel. To change things up I also like 2 pounds Velveeta, One pound Hot Sausage, One pound Maple Sausage, one Hot can and one Regular can of Rotel. The sweet and spicy is fantastic!

The whole family loved this dip! It was easy, fast and delicious.

I love this dip!  To me it is a Super Bowl Classic.  Maybe not the healthiest thing but hey it's 1 day a year, right?

We liked it, but my kids like it better without the sausage. ???????

This was so easy to make. I added a bit of milk and extra hot sauce

I have made this recipe for the entire 38 years my husband and I have been together, and he move back here from Texas, and he got the recipe there. The original recipe did not have anything except Rotel and Velveeta. Also, if you melt your cheese in the top of a double boiler, I discovered that if you pour the liquid to the cheese, it melts easier, it will be much creamer. I have done both and the microwave version turns out a little rubbery. After your Velveta melts, you can pour the Rotel into the Velveeta, or the other way around and stir. And stir. It will get all stringy and look ruined, but stir. And stir. Sorry, this is an old fashion recipe, you have to stir the Rotel into the Velveeta and it takes awhile. I guess if you want to add sausage or ground beef, I guess I wouldn’t leave your party, but I don’t know it I would eat your dip. But anyway, you would add your meat at this point and it will probably stir in easily.As I said, my husband has been making this dip for the last half century, and every party it has been served at, I always have to make twice the recipe because someone will sit down and start eating. It is the most addictive dip I have ever used. Just hot enough that you need another one to turn down the burn, but not so hot it burns your mouth.I am not attaching a picture of the dip in my fridge, my husband has been at it at least twice and I think my so hit it once. If the dip is not almost gone, I would be very surprised.

I’ve been making this dip for over 20 years, great for crowds (easily doubled) spiciness is easily adjusted by using mild ro tel,  I have subbed in leftover taco meat instead of sausage, I have subbed cheddar for a fourth of the velveeta for more cheese flavor and I’ve added extra green Chili’s before. It’s something u can’t mess up, it’s going to be great no matter what you do! Just use what u have or what u like!

Love this recipe I make it spicy same ingredients just hot sausage and chorizo. I eat it with sliced cucumbers. So good. Try it

Quick, easy, and delicious!  Like others suggested, I added a stick of butter to the velveeta and heated it in the microwave while I was browning the sausage.  I used Jimmy Dean (regular) sausage, since that's what I had on hand.  I sprinkled a little flour in at the end rather than draining, then added the soup and drained rotel, took it off the heat and mixed it all together.

Everyone in my family loved this as a snack! Great recipe for a game night!

followed the recipe.... Only I put all of the ingredients into my crock pot, so no microwave. It worked out wonderfully and was a super big hit at my brother-in-laws 50th Birthday party...

I made a big batch - 2lbs spicy sausage, 2lbs of velveeta, 8 oz cream cheese, a can of Rotel and some salsa - for the big game. Everyone loved it!

Pretty good. Used a whole pound of sausage. Felt like it needed a bit more kick for us so we added some hot sauce. Will make again.
