Step 1
Place garlic cloves in a food processor with the salt and mince. Toss and coat on the shrimp and set aside for 15-30 minutes.
Step 2
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil with the bay leaf, 1/3 tablespoons lime juice and the 1 teaspoon turmeric.
Step 3
When the water is at boiling point, add the shrimp and stir. Cook until shrimp become opaque, about 2 to 3 minutes. Drain.
Step 4
Immediately spread the shrimp onto a large baking sheet to cool for 5 minutes. Place shrimp in a bowl and combine the additional lime juice, red chili powder and a pinch of turmeric; toss and mix well.
Step 5
Garnish with cilantro leaves and enjoy.
