Blue Cheese

Toss kale, pecans, green onion, and pear together in a medium bowl. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drizzle vinegar then oil over the top. Toss and serve with a sprinkling of cheese.

YUM! I was looking for a homemade version of my favorite kale salad in town (at a place called Well Bread Bakery), and this totally makes me happy! Thanks! (I just subbed your pears for their cranberries and their shaved Parmesan for your blue cheese.)<br />

Delicious complexity of flavors and pleasing combination of textures. I added pomegranite arils for fun and color. My husband loved it &amp; said I made it through that round without being "chopped" (ha ha)!

I think I could do this salad. I need low cholesterol recipes in my life.  

I really enjoyed this. I adapted a bit. The pears in my market weren't ripe, so I used an asian pear-worked great. Also had some pomegranate seeds in the fridge and tossed them in at the end. Great tip for serving raw kale in salads: drizzle a bit of olive oil, lemon juice and a pinch of kosher salt over the chopped/torn greens. "Massage" the leaves for about a minute and the kale breaks down, reduces and is much more tender.

Absolutely delicious recipe! I skipped the nuts and added dried cranberries to the salad..it is so yummy. My husband requests this ALL the time.

This salad was so good!  I tossed the kale well with the balsamic and olive oil, and it tasted better after it had sat for about 30 minutes.  

Great recipe!! I've always loved the fancy salads they serve at organic, seasonal, farm to table type restaurants, and this fits the bill. I will definitely make this again! Even my fiance, who doesn't generally like salad, enjoyed this dish. *Modifications: used an Asian pear; used soft Swiss cheese; used less kale since we only need 2 servings. 

Loved it.  Going to top make it again and top with grilled salmon for dinner this week.
