Step 1

Thinly slice 8 ounces cremini mushrooms and mince 4 garlic cloves.

Step 2

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add the mushrooms and sauté until browned, 8 to 9 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 3

Add 2 cups heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Simmer until the sauce is reduced by half and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, 5 to 7 minutes. Season with 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
