Step 1

Bring a pot of water to a boil

Step 2

Season with salt and cook the rigatoni according to the package instructions, then drain

Step 3

Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the garlic and saute, stirring occasionally, until golden brown

Step 4

Add the sausage and mushrooms and saute, stirring occasionally, a couple minutes more

Step 5

Add the granulated garlic, season to taste with salt and pepper and continue to cook until the mushrooms start to brown

Add the spinach and cook, tossing, until wilted

Step 7

Add the butter and stir until it's melted

Step 8

Add the chicken broth, bring to a boil and reduce until most of the liquid is gone

Step 9

Add the cooked pasta, cherry tomatoes and grated cheese and cook until all the broth is absorbed

Step 10

Stir in some fresh basil (if using)

Step 11

Plate the pasta, add more grated cheese on top, if you like, then eat
