Artichoke and Spinach Dip

half-and-half

Monterey Jack cheese

light cream cheese

garlic powder

Worcestershire sauce

salt

pepper

spinach

2-14 oz cans of artichoke hearts

green onions, chopped

tortilla chips, pita, etc.

Bring the cream to a simmer over medium heat and add the Monterey Jack, cream cheese, garlic powder, Worcestershire, salt and fresh pepper. Continuously stir to prevent sticking until the cheeses melt.

While slowly stirring, add the spinach, artichoke hearts, and scallions. Stir until mixed and the spinach is wilted.

This dip can be served immediately or served chilled.

I just love spinach so this is a great recipe!

Used lowfat milk instead of half &amp; half, added diced jalapenos and 1/4 C sour cream. Delicious and easy, will definately make this again.

My 16 year old son made this today for a party tonight, it is amazing.  He used Montery Jack for spiciness

We all *LOVE* this dip and it is so easy to make. Having a New Orleans family, I automatically swapped the Monterey Jack for Pepper Jack which kicks it up a notch. I also add a couple shakes of Tony Chachere's, which I put on everything! Simple and good!   As for the people who complain about de-stemming the spinach, I buy baby spinach leaves and they aren't as woody. So I just give the leaves a rough chop and let 'em go in the pot.

The best spinach dip ever!!  Now, I'm not really super savvy in the kitchen. But when I saw this recipe I assumed I was going to take all the ingredients and then just throw it into a pot, and then have a nice day while it cooks itself. WRONG! I had to de-stem the nearly pound of spinach. I've never ever bought spinach before. I thought trying to find it in the grocery store was going to be the hardest part. Thank god for google to help me on this adventure and a random guy in the store to point out what artichoke hearts were.  In the end... it turned out awesome. - I didn't add green onions (could not find that in the store) - I used garlic salt instead of powder (maybe its the same thing? I don't know) - I used 8oz of "fancy" pepperjack cheeze, and since I wanted it really cheesy, I probably added another 4-8oz of Kraft shredded monterey jack cheese. I really could not have imagined it any less cheesier. - I added diced tomatoes. It really just added color.  By the way - this blows Applebees, and every chain restaurant spinach dip out of the water. Especially TGI Fridays (and I can say that because I work there)

Read all the reviews and thought this would be a good dip....but it was much too bland....I added extra garlic powder and Worstershire, but it didn't make a dent in it....if I were to try this again, I would use fresh garlic and the pepper jack cheese that others have suggested.

Followed the recipe as stated and got the best result! It yeilded a large serving. The flavor was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe.

I made this today to test it for a baby shower. It was so delicious that I will definately make again for the shower since I'm eating this batch. I replaced montery jack for pepper jack since that is my husbands favorite cheese and always have plenty in stock. I also used fresh chopped garlic instead of the powder. Delicious!!!1

Delicious, I added chopped water chestnuts and it added a nice texture and crunch.

This was really easy to make!  Make sure your spinach is dried well...a few spins in the salad spinner.  I served mine with home-baked chips from cut-up tortillas.  Instant hit!

I really love Friday's Spinach Artichoke Dip, and this recipe comes very close!  Just top with monterey jack and broil for a few minutes . . . you'll think you're eating out!

I used this recepie for a dinner party and it was a huge hit. Not only does it taste very good but it is very easy to make too!

Easy to make, whether served in a ceramic bowl or placed in a bread bowl after made.  I place the dip in the bread bowl in the oven (350) for about 30 minutes.  I also replace monterrey jack with smoked gouda and it is outstanding.

i tested this recipe out on my family before subjecting guests to it...as usual...and we found it most delicious. We found that using Colby/Monterey Jack cheese instead of the usual parmesan added such an intriguind flavor...not too pungent...but rather...perfect. thanks

I took others advice and added a dash of cayenne pepper and replaced the grated Monterey Jack cheese with crumbled blue cheese.  I didn't have garlic powder or green onions, so I chopped up 2 cloves of garlic and 1 small yellow onion and sauteed those.  Then added that in with the spinach and artichokes.  Everyone in my family LOVED it!  This recipe is a keeper!!

I made this for Thanksgiving appetizer.  I follwed another reviewers advice and added a bit more cheese (10oz.)  Everyone loved it, but we thought something was missing.  When I reheated it the next day, I added some more garlic powder and that seemed to do the trick.

Very good--very rich though!  I used a little more cheese the second time I made it.  It was a hit at my sister's baby shower. Holds well in a fondue pot.

I seved this at my one-year-old's birthday party and now everyone requests it for any get-together. I have printed this recipe many times to give to friends who can't get enough.

MMMMMMM... I enjoyed this as a side dish to to along with a meat-loaf that I made. Instead of using the grated Monterey Jack cheese I used crumbled blue cheese. It turned out very nice. I spread it on broken up french bread.

I think this is a great, simple recipe.  I love the Applebee's art heart and spinach dip and haven't really found one that compares.  This one is AWESOME!

This stuff is awesome! I made it in september for my birthday, and everyone loved it. I automatically bought pepper jack instead of regular jack cheese, but i think i'll keep it that way. It came out great with a little kick, just the way i like it! Thanks foodtv for being my favorite channel and one good reason to get cable.

This recipe is easy to make, and soooo good!  I have made it for our Superbowl party the last two years, and I have friends that say they think about my Spinach dip daily :)  I will of course be making it again this year for our party, this recipe is a keeper!!

I made this dip for the first time ever last week using this recipe.  It was easy to use and everyone loved it.  I plan to make it again on Christmas Eve for my family.  They are big artichoke and spinach dip eaters so they will be even better judges of this recipe, but my friends and my boyfriend loved it, which was enough for me.

This is an easy recipe with a great result.  Best served in a fondue pot to keep it warm!

It was very very easy to make.  I tried it a second time half the cheddar and 1/4 of the cream cheese it came out much better.  The first time was much to salty and cheesy!!!!

This is a tasty dip and quick to prepare.  I used mozzarella cheese (rather than monterrey jack and used a bit of red pepper flakes for some kick.  Delicious!
