Export 6 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Step 2
Mix together all ingredients for the spice rub. Pat the chicken pieces dry with a paper towel, then rub the olive oil all over. Coat both sides of the chicken with the rub.
Step 3
Place the chicken skin side up in a greased baking dish large enough to not crowd it. Place in preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the chicken from the oven. Using tongs and a cooking brush, coat all sides of the chicken with BBQ sauce. Leaving it skin side up, place it back in the oven and bake to an internal temperature of 180°F. Depending on your oven and the size of the thighs, this should take an additional 20-30 minutes.
Step 5
Once the chicken is cooked, broil it for a few minutes to help caramelize the sauce. Keep a close eye on it so that it doesn’t burn.
