Step 1

Preheat your oven to 390°F (200ºC). Place the butter in a small baking dish and put it in the oven to melt. Once melted, remove it from the oven.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk and vanilla extract, then whisk until everything is combined smoothly.

Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the baking dish with the melted butter, distributing it evenly without mixing.

Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the batter. Then, sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of the pecans.

Step 5

Carefully pour the boiling water evenly over the entire cobbler, being careful not to stir.

Step 6

Place the baking dish back in the oven and bake for about 25-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is set. Serve warm, topped with optional ice cream and caramel sauce.
