Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
Step 2
Trace an 2.5 x 11cm bone shape on thick cardboard and cut out to use as a template.
Step 3
Use an electric beater to beat the butter, icing sugar and vanilla essence in a medium bowl until creamy. Add the egg and beat until combined. Sift in the plain flour and self-raising flour and use your hands to mix to a firm dough.
Step 4
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly until smooth. Roll out the dough until 5mm thick and use the cardboard template, and a sharp knife to cut 15 bone shapes from the dough. Re-roll leftover dough and repeat.
Step 5
Place the biscuits in a single layer on the lined trays and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
Step 6
Bake biscuits in preheated oven, swapping trays halfway through cooking, for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oven and cool on the trays.
Step 7
To make the icing, place the egg white in a medium bowl and use a wooden spoon to beat until frothy. Gradually add the icing sugar, a spoonful at a time, beating between additions, until all of the icing sugar has been added and the mixture is smooth and glossy. Divide the icing between 2 small bowls. Stir the red colouring into 1 bowl, and the blue colouring into the other bowl. Cover each bowl with plastic wrap and set aside until required.
Step 8
Use a teaspoon to spoon the pink icing onto 15 of the biscuits. Spread the icing with the back of the spoon and gently tap the edges of each biscuit to smooth. Quickly sprinkle with half the Dinosaur Mix Decors and set aside until set. Repeat with the remaining biscuits, the blue icing and the remaining Dinosaur Mix Decors.
