Step 1

Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium-low heat, saute onion for 8-10 minutes. Add garlic, cumin and cinnamon. Cook another minute.

Step 2

Add brown rice and lentils, cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add salt and 3 1/4 cups water.

Step 3

Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 40-45 minutes.
