Step 1
Cut the green cabbage into bite-sized pieces.

Add the spare ribs to a wok or pot full of clean, cold water. Turn the heat to high and bring it to a boil.

Dry your wok if needed, then set the heat to low. Add corn oil to the wok. Add the ginger and garlic. Stir-fry these aromatics on low heat until they're fragrant, which should take 15-20 seconds.
Step 4
To the soup pot full of stir-fried ingredients, add chicken broth. Then turn the heat on to high. Add water, then give it a good stir.
