Ingredients: 6 tbsp of cake mix (use whatever cake mix you like); 4 tbsp of water; 2 tsp of canola or vegetable oil; 3 tbsp of cake mix; 2 tbsp of water; 1 tsp of canola oil or vegetable oil; 3 tbsp all-purpose flour; 3 tbsp sugar; 4 tsp cocoa powder; 1/4 tsp baking powder; 1 tbsp milk; 1 tbsp vegetable oil or canola oil; 2 tbsp water; pinch of salt

This chocolate mug cake is super fast to make and perfect for portion control. Chocolate cake made and ready to eat in 3 minutes? Yes, please!

Chocolate Mug Cake

tbsp of cake mix (use whatever cake mix you like)

water

tsp of canola or vegetable oil

cake mix

canola oil or vegetable oil

tbsp all-purpose flour

tbsp sugar

cocoa powder

tsp baking powder

tbsp milk

vegetable oil or canola oil

salt

In a mug or bowl combine the chocolate cake mix, water, and oil. Mix well with a fork.

Microwave the mug for 1 minute 30 seconds to 1 minute 45 seconds. Check it with a toothpick, when it comes out clean it is ready.

A small bowl measurement will take about 1 minute.

Top with whatever you like such as, frosting, sprinkles, powdered sugar, etc.

Welcome back to In the Kitchen with Matt, I am your host Matt Taylor. Today I will show you how to make a mug cake or a bowl cake. Mug cakes are really easy to do, takes about 2 minutes and only 3 ingredients. Awesome! Have you ever had the urge to eat cake, but you didn’t want to make a whole cake, because you didn’t want to be tempted to eat a lot of it, or didn’t’ want part of it to go bad, because you couldn’t get to it. Where here you go, make a mug cake. It’s really easy to do, all cooked in the microwave, let’s get started. We start with our cake mix, you can use whatever cake mix you want, and I am using a chocolate cake mix. And we are going to use 3 tablespoons of cake mix, 2 tablespoons of water, and 1 teaspoon of canola oil or vegetable oil. Give that a good mix, ok so you mix it so it is nice and done like that. Okay now I am going to do the one for the mug. Now the mug, I am going to add more to this one, so I am going to do, I am going to double the recipe. So 6 tablespoons or a quarter cup plus two tablespoons of cake mix. Okay. 4 tablespoons or a quarter cup of water, then 2 tsps. of canola oil or vegetable oil, take a fork and we will give it a good mix. And you can spray these with kitchen spray if you want, the inside, but it is not completely necessary. But you can if you want. All right once they are nice and mixed, all we do is put them in the microwave. The bowl goes in for a minute, on high for a minute, the cup goes in for about a minute and a half to a minute 45 seconds. And the way you tell when it is done is push a toothpick in there, and make sure it comes out clean. All right on to the microwave. All right when they come out of the microwave they will look like this. And now you put whatever toppings you want on there. For this little bowl one, I am going to use powdered sugar, like that. For my mug, I am going to take some frosting, and put it in this bag that I have a little tip on it, and I am going to just go ahead and put some frosting in the middle. And maybe I will even do some on the edges, like if you want to hide the edges where it is pealing apart there. Just kind of go around the edge. And I am going to put some sprinkles on there. There you go, fantastic. And that is how you make a mug cake or bowl cake. Really easy to do, 3 simple ingredients, took two minutes, cooked in the microwave, awesome. If I can do it, you can do it.
