Step 1
Add the heavy cream to a medium size microwave safe bowl.
Step 2
Heat the cream for 1 minute in the microwave.
Step 3
Whisk in the orange zest and orange extract.
Step 4
Add the dark chocolate chips to cream mixture, and stir until the chocolate is completely melted and incorporated. You can return the bowl to the microwave and heat in 15 second intervals if the mixture is not warm enough to completely melt the chocolate.
Step 5
Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 30 - 35 minutes. This will chill the chocolate enough to be molded.
Step 6
Use a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop, or a tablespoon to scoop out the chocolate.
Step 7
Roll the chocolate in the granulated sugar to completely coat.
Step 8
Place the truffles on a lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
