Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and 1/2 cup water.

Step 2

Transfer to a medium saucepan and cook until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.

In a large bowl, toss flank steak with cornstarch.

Step 4

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add beef in batches and cook until brown and crispy, slipping pieces over as needed, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer beef to a paper towel lined plate and discard excess oil.

Step 6

Add beef and sauce back to pan over medium heat and cook until sauce has thickened, 2-3 minutes.

Step 7

Stir in scallions, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
