Export 5 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
Prepare the Apples: Peel and pat the apples dry, then cut each apple in half and each half into 4 pieces, giving you 8 equal slices. Make sure to get rid of any seeds or core after slicing.
Step 3
Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles.
Step 4
Roll each apple slice in a triangle of dough, starting at the wider end and rolling towards the point.
Step 5
Place the wrapped apple slices, end pointed tucked underneath, in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 6
Prepare the Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Remove the saucepan from the heat and gently pour the sauce over the wrapped apple slices in the baking dish.
Step 7
Add the Soda: Pour the Sprite around the edges of the dumplings in the baking dish. Avoid pouring it over the dumplings to keep the tops crispy.
Step 8
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
Step 9
Serve: Allow the dumplings to cool slightly for about 5 minutes before serving. This allows the sauce to thicken. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
