Step 1
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2
Place the coconut oil in a large bowl and heat in the microwave for 30-40 seconds until melted. Add the maple syrup, cocoa powder and sea salt and whisk to combine.
Step 3
Add the oats, pecans, coconut flakes and chia seeds and stir until the dry ingredients are well coated with the wet ingredients.
Step 4
Pour the granola mixture onto the prepared pan and spread in an even layer, about 1/4″ thick, packing it down well. Packing it down will result in big clusters!
Step 5
Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 25 minutes or until golden and fragrant, rotating the pan after 15 minutes….do not stir! Remove from heat and cool completely without stirring.
Step 6
Once cooled, break the granola up into chunks and stir in the chocolate chips.
Step 7
Enjoy in a bowl with milk or by the handful!
