The most decadent granola you'll ever have! This chocolate granola makes the perfect breakfast or midday snack and it's easy to prepare. Made with nutritious oats, flax and almonds.

Chocolate Almond Granola

(343 grams) rolled oats (don't use quick oats)

(130 grams) Fisher's whole almonds, roughly chopped

(36 grams) ground flax seeds

(58 grams) coconut oil, melted

(110 grams) honey

(78 grams) packed light brown sugar

(35 grams) Dutch processed cocoa powder

Tbsp (30 milliliters) water

tsp vanilla extract

tsp salt

(44 grams) tiny chopped semi-sweet chocolate chunks or mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a 18 by 13-inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment or brush pan lightly with coconut oil. In a large mixing bowl toss together oats, almonds and flax seeds. In a separate small mixing bowl whisk together melted coconut oil, honey, brown sugar, cocoa, water, vanilla and sea salt. Pour cocoa mixture over oat mixture and toss well until evenly coated. Spread into an even layer on prepared baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven 35 minutes, tossing once and returning to an even layer halfway through baking (it won't be crisp until it cools). Cool completely then sprinkle chocolate chunks over granola. Store in an airtight container.

Preheat oven to 325F and line baking sheet with parchment paper

In a large bowl, mix together oats, nuts, coconut flakes, and salt.

In a saucepan, heat coconut sugar, cocoa powder, maple syrup and coconut oil over medium heat. Let cook for 3-4 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.

Pour saucepan mixture onto oat mixture and stir until combined.

Pour onto baking sheet and press into flat sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes total.

Once fully baked, top with chocolate chips immediately. Stick back in oven for 5 minutes until chips are melted. Stir granola, letting melted chocolate cover all of the granola.

Let cool for one hour before breaking apart.

Very good recipe.  I did add a little extra coconut oil and maple syrup bc it seemed dry from the coconut flakes.  Also added a bit of coffee powder bc....coffee and choc:)  Thank you Erin, it’s a keeper

I've made this recipe about 6 or 7 times and I swear it is better every time. The amount this recipe makes usually lasts my boyfriend and I about 1 to 1.5 weeks. He eats it with Greek yogurt for breakfast and I eat it anytime I'm craving a chocolate snack.  It's super clustery and chocolatey without being sickly sweet. I just made this today, and OMG AMAZING!!!!  I was running low on nuts but found a package of slightly outdated hazelnuts in my pantry..... so i used a combo of hazelnuts and slivered almonds! I can't wait until breakfast tomorrow. will top with plain greek yogurt and fresh strawberries!!!!!  It was so hard not to keep nibbling on the pan as it was cooling this afternoon!!

Fun story, this granola is great for nursing mommas (accidentally ate a ton and almost drown my nursing baby girl, haha!)

I excluded the extra chocolate chips but even with that, feel SO much power from the coco powder and loved it.

This granola is wonderful! I actually ended up omitting the coconut sugar because we had run of all solid sugars. I don't like super sweet things anyways and so I thought this sweetness level was just right for me. I also halved the coconut oil (again, we ran out––quarantine life!) and thought that the granola after cooling was still incredibly crunchy and clumpy... I can imagine the full amount of oil would only make it even more delicious. Loved the addition of coconut, too! It was overall very easy, tasty, and way more affordable than store bought versions especially because it makes such a large amount! I'll be making this again for sure!

BETTER THAN ANY STOREBOUGHT GRANOLA. I'd always believed I'd found the best granola ever (Love Crunch). But this recipe was incredible and I can't believe I made something that tastes better than what I could buy. This granola has the PERFECT flavor profile and proportions: rich chocolate flavor, perfect sweetness, a little saltiness, a teeny hint of warm coconut (didn't add coconut flakes), and bites of nuttiness (I highly recommend walnuts). Also super fun and easy to make!

Do I need to stir the granola half way through the cook time (not just when adding the chocolate chips?) Or just leave it to bake for the 25-30 mins, and only stir when it’s chip time?

No amount of words can describe my love for this granola. I can literally eat half of the pan within a few hours of it coming out of the oven. That is how good it is. I did not think I was a granola person until I tried this recipe! It doesn't last more than two days in my house (and there's only two of us who live here LOL oops)

Ok this is the best granola I’ve ever made, and I’ve made a lot of granola. Seriously so addictive... we ate it in 2 days and we’re a family of 3. Even my mom loved it and she doesn’t like chocolate desserts usually. My dad said it’s the best granola he’s ever had. Seriously the perfect balance of bitter sweet acidic (umami??) addictive chocolatey goodness. And the mixture you stir in the granola can double as a vegan hot fudge if you have some ice cream lying around!!

Yum!!!! I used brown sugar instead of coconut sugar and added 1/4 cup of chia seeds and only 1/4 cup of chocolate chips. Sooooo good and filling as well as satisfying as a sweet snack.

Healthy Chocolate Granola 

9-ingredient granola infused with cocoa powder, naturally sweetened, and full of plant-based protein and fiber! The perfect plant-based breakfast or snack.

Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Granola

gluten-free rolled oats

raw nuts ((almonds, pecans, and/or walnuts are best))

coconut (unsweetened)

Tbsp chia seeds

Tbsp coconut

tsp sea salt

coconut (or avocado) oil

vegan dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 340 degrees F (171 C).

To a food processor (or mixing bowl), add the oats, nuts, coconut, chia seeds, coconut sugar, salt, and cocoa powder. Pulse a few times (or stir) to combine.

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the coconut oil and maple syrup until melted and combined. Pour over the dry ingredients and mix or stir well. If using a food processor, this breaks down the oats and nuts a bit more so it's a finer texture, but this is optional.

Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet (or more baking sheets if making a larger batch) and bake for 17-24 minutes (or until fragrant and deep golden brown), stirring a bit near the halfway point to ensure even baking.

Let cool completely. Then add chocolate (optional). Place in a container that has an air-tight seal, and it should keep for a few weeks. Or store in the freezer up to 1 month or longer.

German Chocolate Granola is crunchy, big cluster chocolate granola with coconut and pecans.  It's like german chocolate cake in a bowl! (GF, V)

German Chocolate Granola

sea salt

old fashioned rolled oats

pecans

[unsweetened coconut flakes]

chia seeds

dairy free dark chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Place the coconut oil in a large bowl and heat in the microwave for 30-40 seconds until melted. Add the maple syrup, cocoa powder and sea salt and whisk to combine.

Add the oats, pecans, coconut flakes and chia seeds and stir until the dry ingredients are well coated with the wet ingredients.

Pour the granola mixture onto the prepared pan and spread in an even layer, about 1/4″ thick, packing it down well.&nbsp;Packing it down will result in big clusters!

Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 25 minutes or until golden and fragrant, rotating the pan after 15 minutes….do not stir!&nbsp;Remove from heat and cool completely without stirring.

Once cooled, break the granola up into chunks and stir in the chocolate chips.

Enjoy in a bowl with milk or by the handful!

Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips

Preheat the oven to 325F. Add the Maple Syrup, Almond Butter, Vanilla Extract, Cacao Powder, and Salt to the base of a large bowl. Whisk until evenly incorporated.

Pour the Oats, Hazelnuts, Pumpkin Seeds, and Coconut into the bowl and fold them into the wet mixture, until all pieces are evenly coated. Transfer this mixture to a greased or lined baking tray and press it into a thin, even layer using a spatula.

Bake for 20 minutes on the bottom rack of the oven, then remove and use a spatula to toss/flip the granola. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 6-7 minutes, then remove.

Immediately sprinkle the Chocolate Chips over the mixture, using a spatula to gently toss them. If you’d like the Chips to completely melt, stir them a bit more until they melt completely. Let the Granola and Chocolate cool completely on the tray before removing.

Serve as desired; store leftovers at room temperature or in the fridge (recommended for crunchier granola) for up to one month.

I thought the tahini cardamom was your best yet but after making and tasting this, I was blown away yet again! The flavours are so delicious!! The only change I made was using quick oats since I didn’t have any rolled oats on hand but it still turned out great.

I was looking for something like Bare Naked’s chocolate hazelnut granola and this is IT!! Yum!! I strongly encourage anyone making this to double it. You won’t be sorry. I didn’t have enough pumpkin seeds so I ended up with 1/3 c pumpkin seeds, 1/3 c sunflower seeds and 1/3 c hemp hearts with great results.

This healthy chocolate cereal has just 4 ingredients and is gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free, made with simple, wholesome pantry staples. Both kids and adults will love these homemade cocoa puffs!

Chocolate Cereal (Homemade Cocoa Puffs)

oat flour ((gluten-free if needed))

butter

cocoa powder ((or cacao powder))

You can watch the video in the post for visual instructions.Combine the nut/seed butter and the maple syrup in a bowl and stir with a spoon.

Add the oat flour and cocoa powder and mix again.

Then use your hands to shape the mixture into a dough. If it’s too dry, add more maple syrup or nut/seed butter. If it’s too wet, add more oat flour, one teaspoon at a time.

Next, preheat the oven to 320 °F (160 °C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Meanwhile, divide the dough into four pieces and roll them into ropes about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick.

Use a knife to cut the ropes into smaller pieces, about ½-¾-inch thick, then roll each of those pieces into balls with your hands. This cocoa cereal recipe should make between 120-140 balls.

Transfer the prepared cereal balls to the baking sheet, with space in between, and bake them for about 10 minutes. Then leave them to cool completely.The homemade cocoa puffs cereal will still be soft immediately out of the oven but firm up as they cool. Be careful not to overbake them, as they can and will burn.

Enjoy the chocolate cereal balls for breakfast with your favorite dairy-free milk (and optional fruit) of your choice!

Used AP flour and peanut butter and was very yummy!! Reminded me a certain chocolate peanut butter sweet treat ;)

If using AP flour use about 1/2 cup less and reserve if too set. Love it.
