Step 1

Pat the chicken breasts with paper towels until they're completely dry. This is an important step.

Step 2

Mix the paprika, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, white pepper, and thyme in a small bowl.

Step 3

Rub the chicken with oil. Sprinkle the desired quantity of spice mix on both sides of the chicken until covered. Save any remaining spice mix for another time.

Step 4

Place the metal rack in the basket of the Instant Pot air fryer. Place the air fryer basket in the air fryer and preheat at 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Grease the rack. You can either use a paper towel soaked with oil or an oil sprayer. Don't use canned aerosol oil as that can harm the coating of the air fryer basket.

Step 6

Place the chicken breasts in the basket and ensure they're evenly spaced and not crowding each other.

Step 7

Close the air fryer and air fry for 15 to 20 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit. The amount of time will depend on the thickness of the chicken breast.

Step 8

The Instant Pot air fryer display says turn Food partway through cooking.

Step 9

Open the air fryer and turn each chicken breast using a pair of tongs. Close the air fryer and continue cooking.

Step 10

When the cooking time is up, open the air fryer and use a digital thermometer to make sure the chicken breasts are just about 160 degrees Fahrenheit. If not, cook for another minute or two.

Step 11

Press Cancel and transfer the meat to a serving plate. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before cutting.
