Step 1
In a small sauce pan or skillet, sauté the garlic in olive oil for 1-2 minutes, stirring often. Then add the cumin and sauté for another minute to bring out the flavors of the cumin.
Step 2
Add the drained can of chickpeas to the garlic oil along with the red pepper flakes, lemon juice, salt & pepper. Sauté for a couple minutes to let the flavors come together, taste for needed salt & pepper, then toss in the fresh parsley. If you have some, sprinkle the sumac over the beans when serving. Enjoy!
