For the simple syrup: Add the berries, sugar and 1/2 cup water to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the berries have released their juices and the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the liquid into a jar. Cool to room temperature before using.
Step 2
For the lime berry soda: Fill a 12-ounce glass with ice. Top with 1 ounce berry syrup and the sparkling water (save the remaining berry syrup for another use). Stir to combine. Garnish with the lime wedge and mint sprig.
