Step 1

In bacon drippings, sauté onion and bell pepper for 8–10 minutes until vegetables are soft. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add parsley, sugar, salt, pepper, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, hot sauce, and shrimp. Mix, and immediately remove from heat. Pour into a freezer bag and freeze.

Step 2

Place the defrosted shrimp and sauce in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes or until the mixture has come to a full simmer. Serve over hot rice.
