Step 1
Sift the flour, the baking powder, the sugar, and the salt together in a large bowl.
Step 2
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the milk, the melted butter, and the egg.
Step 3
Whisk all the ingredients together until relatively smooth, but a few lumps are welcome! Don't overmix the batter.
Step 4
Lightly oil a griddle or a pan over medium-high heat.
Step 5
Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot griddle, about 1/4 cup of the batter for each pancake.
Step 6
Cook each pancake until golden-brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Wait until the middle begins to bubble and the edges appear dry and set before flipping the pancakes.
Step 7
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Step 8
Serve.
