Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Blend flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; add shortening, eggs, orange rind, and juice. Mix well.

Stir in oats.

Drop level tablespoonfuls of dough on greased baking sheet 2 inches apart. ***Bake 12 to 15 minutes for a crispy, crunchy light orange flavor cookie.*****Bake 10 to 11 minutes for soft, chewy and pop of orange flavor cookie.

Ready to eat....gotta pour a tall glass of cold milk first. :-)
