Step 1
Thinly Slice the Red Onion. I like to set my Mandoline Slicer to 1/16th Thickness and slice thin.
Step 2
Add the onions to the sterilised jar.
Step 3
In a small bowl, add vinegar, salt, maple syrup and hot water. Stir together to combine.
Step 4
Add the prepared pickling mixture to the Jar filled with onions. Allow the onions to rest in the pickling mixture for an hour (or more) to soak up and deepen the flavors.
Step 5
After the pickled onions come down to room temperature, store them in the refrigerator for up to a month.
