Spicy Pickled Eggs Recipe

In a large saucepan *affiliate link, combine vinegar, water, sugar and salt. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until sugar and salt have dissolved. Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool completely.

Distribute eggs and remaining ingredients between 2 quart-sized mason jars. Top with cooled brine and cover.

Refrigerate for about 7 &#8211; 10 days before serving.

I haven’t tried this recipe but I gave it 5 star’s because it’s so pretty. I have to agree somewhat w/ American homestead. Although the CDC recommends refrigerating the eggs at all times. They say 6-8 weeks for full flavor and recommend eating in 4 months. One month old eggs r just getting ripe. CDC aside bars have been keeping big gallon size containers of pickled eggs on their counters for decades. If this wasn’t safe the health inspectors would of stopped it. I thought the brine is best poured hot on the eggs. This seems to change from various recipes. Simply whisked ur recipe looks good and the presentation is beautiful but it seems like a few of ur facts differ from so many other recipes. I do plan to use ur recipe very soon.

I've made pickled eggs in the past, the one with beets and onions. I did not care for it.  Came across this one and I really enjoyed it. I will be adding more garlic and jalepenos 2nd time around. Thank you for the recipe.

Pickled Vegetable Sichuan

Wash your pickle jar carefully and then put aside to drain all the water.

Wash all the ingredients carefully and then drain them thoroughly. There should be no water.

Put the water in a large pan and heat the water to boiling. Then move away from fire to cool down naturally.

Get the dried pickle jar, put one layer of chili pepper and tender ginger, add one layer of salt and sparkle some Sichuan peppercorns. Repeat again until all the peppers and gingers are placed.

Pour cooled down water to pickle jar. Make sure that all the ingredients are soaked by water.

Cover the lid and pour some water in the edge to prevent any air goes into the jar.

Put the jar in a cool environment and wait for 7 days.

Add other ingredients into the jar to make your own favorite pickled vegetables. You can add cabbage, green beans, cucumber and radishes.

I am in the process of making this recipe right now.  I did add more jalepenos, and also added more garlic and onion. I am a garlic and onion lover. In stead of the fresh dill, which is probably better, I added dill seeds in the cooking the brine. Also try some peppercorn.  Happy eating!

I make pickled eggs with beet brine.  I use the same brine that I use to can my beets.  I also add jalapeno to it.  It's a favorite with the guys at my husbands workplace.

I just made this, 24 eggs so I 1.33X the recipe. Should've used 36 eggs actually since the four 1L mason jars I used could've fit 3 more eggs in each.

Pickled garlic is crunchy and salty with a little bit of sweet

Spicy Pickled Garlic

tbsp sugar

garlic (peeled, about 48 cloves, see notes)

gochugaru (optional)

Stir together the 2/3 cup warm water, rice vinegar, and sugar until the sugar dissolves. If you like you can heat it on the stove over low heat then let it cool completely.

Place the garlic and gochugaru (if using) n a glass jar. Cover with the vinegar-sugar mixture and cover tightly. Depending on your jar, you might need to double the pickling solution. Let pickle in the fridge until desired. Pickled garlic usually takes 2 weeks. The garlic becomes more mellow the longer the pickling period.

This crunchy and sweet pickled jalapeno recipe whips up fast in just 10 minutes! They go right into your refrigerator without boiling!

Crunchy &amp; Sweet Refrigerator Pickled Jalapeños

Bring the vinegar, sugar, mustard seed and celery seed to a rolling boil.

Fill each jar ¾ full of sliced jalapeno slices.

Pour brine over peppers to within 1/2&quot; of the top.

Wipe off the rim and put lid and ring on.

Label jars with the date so you know exactly how long they have been in the refrigerator. 

Store in the fridge. Store in the fridge for at least 24 hours before eating.

You can also follow proper canning procedures and then process them in a water bath canner if you prefer (will lend a slightly less crunchy pepper). Follow the USDA guidelines for timing.

Be sure to verify that the lids have completely sealed down if storing on the shelf.

Leave for 1 week or longer (if you can stand it!)

Pickled Jalapeno Peppers

Jalapenos (stems trimmed and sliced in half lengthwise)

Garlic

Distilled White Vinegar

Water

Sugar

Kosher Salt

In a small saucepan combine the water, vinegar, sugar, and salt.

Heat the brine, stirring, just enough to dissolve the sugar and salt.

Remove the pot off of the heat and set aside until the jars are stuffed with the jalapenos and garlic.

Let cool at room temperature before securing a lid and placing them in the fridge.

Refrigerate for 3 to 5 days. (start taste testing at about 2-3 days, your preference)

QUICK PICKLED RED ONIONS RECIPE

Thinly Slice the Red Onion. I like to set my Mandoline Slicer to 1/16th Thickness and slice thin.

Add the onions to the sterilised jar.

In a small bowl, add vinegar, salt, maple syrup and hot water. Stir together to combine.

Add the prepared pickling mixture to the Jar filled with onions. Allow the onions to rest in the pickling mixture for an hour (or more) to soak up and deepen the flavors.

After the pickled onions come down to room temperature, store them in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Quick Pickled Beets Recipe

Beets (greens trimmed, washed)

Place beets on trivet in pressure cooker and add 1 cup of cold water (if using 8 quart pressure cooker add 1 ½ cups cold water).

Cook on HIGH PRESSURE for 13 to 30 minutes (refer to chart in notes on timing), followed by a quick pressure release. Test beets for tenderness with a fork. Let cool and then peel beets and slice or cube as desired.

Place beets in clean glass mason jars or plastic canning jars.

Combine the vinegar and water in a microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl and heat for 1 ½ minutes. Stir in sugar, salt and peppercorns until sugar and salt are dissolved.

Pour the brine over the cut beets until fully submerged. Cover and let sit at room temperature for up to 24 hours. Then place beets in fridge. Can be enjoyed right away and lasts up to 6 weeks in the fridge.

Prep the peppers: Utilize a small paring knife to remove the membranes and seeds before slicing (for a less spicy version). Slice thinly and continue until all peppers are sliced.

Transfer the pepper slices and garlic to a large glass jar (with lid).

Add the vinegar, water, honey and salt to a small saucepan and heat until almost boiling. Make sure to stir to dissolve the honey/sugar.

Remove the vinegar/sugar mixture from the heat and pour over the peppers.

Use a butter knife or chopstick to tap on the bottom of the glass to remove hidden air pockets.

Once the peppers are cooled to room temperature, place the lid on the jar and refrigerate.

Super thin slices can be eaten after 10 minutes while thicker slices will need a few days.

These pickled vegetables can be made up to 2 weeks in advance, or made a day before and refrigerated overnight. They are the perfect way to whet your appetite before any meal.

Ingredients

3-4 cups chili peppers you can use any type of pepper here. The amount will vary depending on how you chop them.
2 cups white vinegar
4 garlic cloves chopped
3 tablespoons black peppercorns
teaspoon cardamom seeds
1 tablespoon ginger
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons pickling salt

Instructions
