Name: Ranch Water Cocktail

Ingredients: 1 ½ ounces silver (blanco) tequila; 1 ounce fresh lime juice, plus lime wedges for serving; Teeny tiny pinch of fine salt; Sparkling water, preferably Topo Chico or Mineragua

Make the ultimate ranch water cocktail at home with this recipe! You'll need good tequila, fresh lime, and Topo Chico or sparkling water.

Ranch Water Cocktail

silver (blanco) tequila

lime lime

Teeny tiny pinch of fine salt

Sparkling water, preferably Topo Chico

Fill a tall glass to the brim with ice. Pour in the tequila and lime juice. Add a tiny sprinkle of salt to bring out the flavors. 

Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water. Gently stir once with a spoon to mix. Add a lime wedge and serve at once.

This is my go to cocktail, but I never knew it was called Ranch Water.  My tequila of choice is either1800 Coconut, 1800 Silver or Espalon with grapefruit sparkling water.   Learn something new every day!  :) 

PS I love love love your recipes and have made quite a few of them.

I always make my ranch water with a splash of Cointreau.  And haven't bought Topo Chico since I found out it is now owned by Coca Cola.  Waterloo works just as well and is usually cheaper.

Wonderful cocktail.  Terrible tequila recommendation.

Casamigos is very poorly made and a lot of their expressions are loaded with additives to make it unnaturally vanilla in flavor profile.

Also, 100% agave does NOT mean additive free!   That only refers to the source of the sugars for fermentation.   It can say 100% agave and still have 1% additives!   

Finally, not all mixtos are bad (thought is a good rule of thumb).  El Tequileno Blanco is a mixto that is made with piloncillo alongside the agave sugar.  It is fantastic.

Try El Tesoro, Tapatio, G4, Cascahuin, El Tequileno, Ocho or any of a number of other additive free, naturally made, high quality tequilas that actually taste like tequila.

This is delicious!  Made as directed - I did add a speck of stevia.  Mmmmmm……
