Export 4 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
Arrange the mini pretzels (or saltine crackers) in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 3
In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a boil. Allow it to boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
Step 4
Pour the toffee mixture over the pretzels, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Step 5
Bake in the oven for 5 minutes and make sure the toffee is bubbling and golden.
Step 6
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips over the toffee layer. Return to the oven and let melt for 1 minute. Then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
Step 7
Sprinkle your choice of festive toppings over the melted chocolate. I suggest Heath bar bits for extra toffee flavor.
Step 8
Allow the Christmas crack to cool and set-up completely before breaking it into pieces. I suggest placing it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
Step 9
Store in an airtight container and room temperature.
