Step 1
Place all yakitori ingredients in a large bowl and mix well until they all come together.
Step 2
When ready, cut the seitan into 6-8 equal pieces.
Step 3
Take each piece, stretch and roll it around a skewer to create a spiral, long shape.
Step 4
Remove from the skewer and place in bamboo steamers.
Step 5
Steam for 25 minutes on low heat.
Step 6
In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200C/400F.
Step 7
Line a baking tray with a baking sheet.
Step 8
Prepare the sauce by mixing all ingredients in a bowl.
Step 9
When the seitan spirals are done allow them to cool for a few minutes.
Step 10
Place them in the bowl of sauce and make sure they are fully covered. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
Step 11
Place each seitan spiral on a skewer stick and using a sharp knife, make dents into the "meat".
Step 12
Brush each spiral with plenty of sauce and place it on the baking sheet.
Step 13
Bake for 25 minutes in the center of the oven. You can turn them halfway through.
Step 14
Allow the yakitori to cool a little and brush with a little more sauce or with a little olive oil if you prefer.
