Today I want to share with you one of my favorite Vietnamese childhood Street snacks, Mực khô nướng! You can see and smell this tasty snack a mile away!
\n\n\n\nIt consist of basically grilling these seasoned dried squids. Then dipping them in various sauces! Growing up we kept it pretty simple, we used a mixture of hoisin and Sriracha. You can add more or less depending on your taste. More hoisin means more sweeter, Sriracha means more spicy.
\n\n\n\nTraditionally these are grilled over coals or charcoal, but I got a new grill so that works too. I don’t recommend making them in the oven because it’s just not the same. Also this bag of dried squid I got from the Asian Garden Mall a.k.a. Phuoc Loc Tho in Westminster, CA. You can also find them in a lot of Asian markets that sell dried herbs and goods.
