Step 1

Peel the apples and cut them into thin cubes or slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice and set aside

Step 2

Take a small bowl and combine water and arrowroot. Stir to remove all of the lumps of the arrowroot

Step 3

Put the mixture in a pan and heat it slowly. Then add brown sugar and cinnamon. Whisk to combine all the ingredients

Step 4

Then add the apples into the saucepan. Turn to low to medium heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes or until the apples are soft and tender

Step 5

Take the filling off the heat and stir to let it cool

Step 6

Put 4 puff pastry squares on a cutting board. Scoop apple pie filling in the middle of the pastry

Step 7

Leave an inch of pastry free on the side so you can seal the turnovers. To close the turnovers brush all the edges with water, fold the pastry over the apple filling into a triangle, and seal

Step 8

Use your fingers to press the pastry close or use a fork

Step 9

Then brush the top of the turnovers with water and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Step 10

Preheat the Air Fryer to 390℉/198℃ for 3 minutes. Then add the turnovers into the Air Fryer

Step 11

Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown

Step 12

Check halfway through the baking time to see if the puff pastry is not baking too fast else reduce the temperature by 10 degrees

Step 13

Take out of the Air Fryer and serve
