Creamy Skillet Noodles with Peas

butter, cubed

canola oil

egg noodles

peas (about 10 ounces)

chicken broth

half-and-half cream

salt

pepper

I have had an amazing streak of making good meals for my family during quarantine, but things changed when I made this recipe. I was so excited to make it because it looked creamy and delicious, but even after following the recipe to a T, the result hardly resembled your photo. It was dry and the noodles had hardened, even though I lowered the heat because I thought it was too hot. I added more broth and a little more cream, which made it edible, but not enjoyable. Eventually, I gave up and added 4 cheese pasta sauce, which made it much better.

This is delicious and very easy. I used 1% milk instead of half and half. I used only one can of chicken broth (which is a little less than 2 cups) and made up the rest of the liquid with the 1% milk. I also stirred in 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese about 5 minutes before it was done. Delicious! My husband says this recipe is a keeper! In response to pdjones, I used Pennsylvania Dutch brand egg noodles which come dried, in a bag, and can be found in the aisle with the spaghetti and other types of dried noodles.

Not bad. I added cubed h am & some mild shredded cheddar toward t he end of cooking time.

Delicious! I added finely shredded white cheddar cheese and cubed ham and actually used this as my main dish. So good!!!

Easy, quick - added Parmesan and cooked chicken pieces. Might try ham next time.

I made this today and my family loved it! I also enjoyed that it is made with ingredients I always have on hand. I used 3/4 of a box of thin spaghetti. I also think this would be great with a little fresh grated Parmesan and crispy bacon bits!!Excellent dish!

Very easy and quick meal. I added some chicken thighs, Parmesan, and some mozzarella and it helped to make it extra creamy. Highly recommend!!!

I hate when people comment that haven't tried it but I have a question BEFORE I make it. Don't know if I'm being dense but it calls for uncooked fine egg noodles to be cooked in skillet 2-3 minutes. Are you talking egg noodles in a pkg off the shelf or like Reames frozen noodles. (thawed or unthawed). I haven't ever fixed noodles this way so I am hesitant. Thank you.

This is a great side dish! There are only two of us, so I halved the recipe and (oh the horror!) I used crumbled ramen noodles instead of egg noodles. The ramen toasts and cooks more quickly, so I had to adjust cooking time, but it made for quick and tasty dish that we both enjoyed. I will definitely be making it with egg noodles as written.

Quick and easy ... Love It ... Added a shallot and roast chicken - Good, then used shallot and andouille sausage - Delicious!

My husband and I liked this, but thought it was missing something. Maybe the parmesan the other reviewer mentioned? We had this with TOH Tomato Walnut Tilapia. I cut this recipe in half, but as a side dish, I think it made a LOT. It also seemed like it had a LOT of peas. I will cut back on them next time. A solid side dish that I will make again.

Awesome! Just loved this dish. Made this in my rice cooker - first on saute setting, then rice setting. Stirred through the parmesan cheese at the end. Wonderful! Didn't change anything. I did halve this as there is only 3 of us, which was perfect for a side dish. This will be a regular for us now. Thanks for a lovely, tasty and easy recipe. 10/10.

This recipe was made on June 18th, 2017 as a side to go with Fried Tilapia. Instead of using the fine egg noodles, two 7 ounce ( 4 cups) bags of Fideo Noodles. Even though there is just two of us the whole recipe was made (I love leftovers). I felt like something was missing. When I reheat this, I'll add some Parmesan cheese to see if that helps. I think that this recipe will be a great starting point for a variety of other great recipes. Thanks for sharing. " Keep smiling :) "

Great side dish! Delicious! I may add chicken or tuna in the future and turn it into a main dish.

We've had this twice in the last month for lunch. My boys LOVE it. First time I made it, as is. The last time I made it, I added cooked chicken and a sprinkle of parmesan.The recipe says egg noodles, but I went off the picture and it looks like thin spaghetti to me :)
