Step 1

In a large non-stick skillet, brown 2 pounds of ground beef with with 1 minced onion over medium-high heat, breaking the meat up into small pieces, as it browns. Once the meat is fully cooked, add in 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, just to toast the garlic.

Step 2

Remove the meat and onion mixture from the heat and if needed, drain off any excess grease. Add the browned meat to the base of the slow cooker.

Step 3

Drain and rinse a can of dark kidney beans and light kidney beans and add to the meat mixture in the slow cooker. Add 28 ounces of crushed tomatoes, 14.5 ounces of diced tomatoes, and 2 tablespoons of chili seasoning. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

Step 4

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.

Step 5

Serve with cheese, sour cream, chips, cornbread, etc
