Step 1

Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

Season the chicken or shrimp with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken or shrimp and cook until they are no longer pink and cooked through. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed and sauté the bell peppers, onions, and garlic until they are tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and hot sauce. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens and the cheese is melted. This will take about 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

Return the cooked chicken or shrimp to the skillet and stir to coat them in the creamy sauce. Let them heat through for a few minutes.

Step 7

Toss the cooked penne pasta into the skillet with the sauce and protein. Gently stir to combine and coat the pasta evenly.

Step 8

Season with additional Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.

Step 9

Serve the voodoo pasta hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
