Step 1
In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Stir in lemon juice and remove from heat.
Step 2
Transfer the mixture into a large pitcher and add 2 to 4 cups of cold water to your desired taste.
Step 3
Refrigerate until the lemonade cools completely, about 30 minutes.
Step 4
Serve with lemon slices and ice, if desired.
