Miniature Peanut Butter Treats

COOKIE:

butter, softened

sugar

brown sugar

egg, room temperature

peanut butter

vanilla extract

all-purpose flour

baking soda

salt

FILLING:

42 miniature peanut butter-chocolate cups

In a bowl, combine the butter, sugars, egg, peanut butter and vanilla; beat until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Cover and chill for 1 hour or until easy to handle.

Roll into 42 walnut-sized balls; place in greased miniature muffin cups. Bake at 375° for 8-9 minutes.

Remove from oven; gently press 1 peanut butter cup into each cookie, forming a depression. Cool for 10 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

It took me a while because I had to make in batches (smol oven) but they were sooo easy! Great idea, although I found the directions to be a bit lackluster. Some information as to what texture to aim for in the oven, whether we are talking about light or dark brown sugar and if the peanut butter should contain salt, sugar or no additions made the recipe a lot of guesswork (which to avoid is precisely while I choose to follow a recipe). The end product was yummy, although a little too cloyingly sweet for my liking, and my co-workers liked it, so overall a win.

Yummy nuggets. Fussy to make but fun with kids. Be sure you have correct small cupcake tins or foil cupcake liners.

These were my favorite new recipe for Christmas cookies this year. I had an easier time getting them out of the pan in one piece when I cooled them completely in the pan; otherwise the rim of the cookie wanted to separate from the bottom. The PB cups melt a little bit at first, so I added some sprinkles at that time, so they’d stick. Everyone that tried them loved them.

I make these a couple of times of year, one being at Christmas.  They are excellent.  Very simple to make.  I, too, like that you make your own dough, not store bought.  If the dough was store bought, I probably would not make them.  A hint that might be useful---you should IMMEDIATELY press the peanut butter cup into the cookie.  I make it a point to have all the peanut butter cups unwrapped and waiting for the cookies to come out of the oven.  One time I used a caramel cup chocolate candy and they were just as good.

this recipe is very easy to make I would make this again and again I made this into a double batch any time  I even add for Christmas decorations, Christmas candy sprinkles  to add  while the chocolate is still warm .

I have made these for over 10 years but used the tubes of peanut butter cookie dough.  Takes no time at all.  A few years ago when they came out with the Simply Cookies I cut each one in half and rolled it into a ball for the perfect size.  I am all for easy and this is it.

I I have made these and at Valentine's, you can get the heart shaped Reese's treats and they look so cute on these!

These are delicious.  I used my teaspoon scoop and it made 6 dozen!11/8/14 -  I want to apologize for misleading,  and correct my review.  These treats are delicious.  However, I made the dough ahead of time and baked a week later.  The reason I got six dozen was because I doubled the recipe.

A peanut butter cup lovers dream!  And so easy!  Family and friends loved these and it's something I'll fix when I need a quick dessert....that's how easy they are!!!

I made these last night, they are a family favorite. My husband's mom always makes a variation of these at christmas time. I love that these do not use a store bought dough (who needs the extra cost and processed ingredients when the recipe  barely takes any time to put these together). The recipe does cut in half nicely as well. I used my size 60 scoop and they turned out perfect.

I tried these using my own peanut butter cookie recipe which is very similar to this one. Now I'm making these for our son's graduation party! Very tasty, big hit with the kids.

You can never go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate. The hardest part of this recipe is unwrapping all the peanut butter cups. So simple, so tasty.

These are so good! This is one of my favorite cookies. They taste great and disappear quickly every time. It's hard to beat the combination of chocolate and peanut butter!

I've made this recipe but from another site. I have found it helpful to refrigerate the peanut butter cups before pushing them into the baked peanut butter cookie.

I made this recipe to take over to my grand kids and they disappeared immediately. They are easy to make and fun to eat. Nothing beats chocolate and peanut butter. Recipe is a keeper.

Love peanuts butter-healthy (peanuts) so love this recipe-having butter daily may not be advisable but sometimes is ok-though peanuts is better.

These cookies are a must for all peanut butter lovers!  The peanut butter cookie dough requires more ingredients than a lot of other peanut butter recipes on this site, but it's well worth the extra effort.  I make these at Christmastime and family birthday celebrations.
