Step 1
Saute ground beef and pork in dutch oven or large pot. Add in salt to taste and onion and cook until done. Drain in colander or on paper towels then add back into pot.
Step 2
Add in beer and let cook 3 to 4 minutes.
Step 3
Add in diced tomatoes, garlic, and other spices. Cook about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Add in tomato sauce, adobo sauce and chocolate.
Step 5
I also added about a tablespoon of garlic salt, and a dash of cayenne pepper to taste.
Step 6
Cook on medium heat on stove top for at least 1 hour. I like to cook for 3 or 4 hours.
Step 7
You can also do this in a crock pot on low all day or on high for 3 or 4 hours. If you use a crock pot, still complet the first two steps. Cook the meat and cook off the beer on stove top first.
Step 8
This is a somewhat spicy chili. It is not crazy hot, but you could use the diced tomatoes without green chilis and cut back on the chili powder to bring down the spice. Remember you can start with less of any of the spices and make it to your taste.
