bulk Italian sausage

biscuit/baking mix

cheddar cheese

water

I just finished making these and followed the directions. They are great and while I did not measure their size, I did get 45 very nice sized puffs. I cooked the sausage prior to mixing it with the baking mix and cheese and it was fine. The only thing I would suggest is to lightly spray/grease your baking pan. They are great!

<p>Made these exactly as recipe was written, and they were very crumbly and tasted heavily of the baking mix. Even after I tried cooking some of them longer, the biscuit mix taste was too heavy. Like eating uncooked flour..  yuck 🤢 </p>

I've made these for many years and this recipe complicates things a bit.  The sausage does not need to be cooked first.  Just put everything in a large bowl and mix well, using either your hands or a stand mixer with the paddle attachment.  I also use 4 ounces of cream cheese instead of adding water, then bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.

Huge hit at my house!  Used hot Italian sausage.  They were moist and yielded around 3 dozen.  Will definitely become a regular in our home.

Use Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage.  Spicy is the best one for us!

These appetizers are always a hit at our get togethers.  I have been making them for many, many, many years.  So easy, so delicious1

Mine came out a little dry and crumbly. Might use an egg next time.

When cooking the sausage, I put in onion, garlic, red and green peppers...they were a hit and a request to make more! Thanks for sharing!

This is the same recipe that I use with a couple of differences.  I add about 1/4 or 1/3 cup of hot sauce to the drained sausage and grated sharp cheddar cheese before I add the baking mix.  I bake mine at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.  They are my oldest son's favorite.

They tasted very good; but the recipe said the yield would be "about 4 dozen".  I had a yield of 1 1/2 dozen.  Your instructions said to shape into 1-1/2-in. balls.  I did exactly that using a ruler to make sure they were the correct size.  Is it possible that you wanted the balls to be 1 inch size?

These were so easy to make! The perfect party snack!

Easy to put together.  It worked great to freeze and heat just before my brunch.
