Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries.
Step 2
Combine strawberries, orange juice, and 1/2 cup of the white sugar in a medium pot and cook over medium heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
Step 3
In another bowl, combine the flour and the remaining 1/2 cup of white sugar. Use a pastry blender or two forks to cut 1/2 cup of the butter into it. It will be dry and crumbly. Sprinkle it on top of the strawberries.
Step 4
Soften the remaining 1/4 cup of butter and mix with 1 cup brown sugar. Drop into dollops on top of the flour mixture.
Step 5
Bake for 55 minutes to an hour, or until golden, bubbly, and the cobbler is cooked through. Serve with vanilla ice cream or a generous pour of heavy cream.
