Super Easy Peach Cobbler

butter-melted

flour

sugar

milk

baking powder

Pour melted butter into 8&#215;8 baking dish.

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and milk to combine, then pour the batter over the melted butter. (do not stir!)

Place the peaches on top of the batter and bake about 30 minutes, until golden brown.

All I can say is Wow! Looks delish. Gonna make this tonight.

Made this twice. First time it was  awesome, second time I didn’t put in enough milk plus my fruit was hot—big mistake. Will cool the fruit (berries)  FIRST, then proceed!!! I also bake it over an hour!

I use all the juice.  I use SR flour and &amp; no baking powder.  My Grandmother called it a cup-a-pie.

It was awesome.. I had to cook it longer but i saw another rec. pretty much the same but bake it at 400.. So i am going to try that.  This is not a cake like cobbler ...i like it cause you can cook it to your family's liking the rec is simple...

My Grandmother &amp; Mom used to make this &amp; it was so very DELICIOUS 😋 with vanilla ice cream 😋😋😋 now it's the only one I make, , I'm gonna make it for my Grandson 💙 I hope He likes it 🤞🤞🤞

On the cobbler , very good, but my cooking time was closer to 60minutes.

I've been making a very similar super easy to remember peach cobbler for all my adult life.  Preheat oven to 350  degrees.  Melt a stick of butter in a greased 2 and 1/2 qt casserole dish.  While butter is melting, in a large mixing bowl, mix 2 cups of SELF rising flour with 2 Cups of sugar with 2 cups of milk whisking all together.  Once butter is melted, remove from oven and immediately pour canned peaches in.  I whisk the peaches with the butter.  Now, pour prepared batter into the peaches and butter.  Do NOT whisk the batter into the peaches.  Bake in oven approximately an hour to and hour and fifteen minutes.   Batter rises to the top as it bakes and is ready once a nice golden brown!  It is easy to increase or decrease the size of this cobbler.  Serve warm with either whipped topping or better yet, a scoop of vanilla ice cream!!  Enjoy!!

I tried to rate this 5 stars but I couldn’t get the stars to work.  Made this dessert today. Absolutely fabulous! I used 8 fresh peaches. I had to bake in a 11 x 7”  because I had so many peach slices. I decided I needed to add 1/2 cup of flour, a second teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 cup of milk. I also added a teaspoon of almond extract. Worked perfectly! I sprinkled with cinnamon. I will make this again!

Used 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar and cooked almost an hour.

This has been my cobbler recipe for over 40 years, my husband's grandmother made it and everyone in the family uses no other recipe for cobbler.  I use fresh fruit and if you use selfrising flour you can leave out the baking powder.  Great cobbler!!

I used this recipe for years and lost the recipe.  I believe this is the one. I tried the Allrecipes one and it did not call for baking powder and it eas a total fail!!!  So excited to make this tonight!!!!

ANNE, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO CHANGE THE RECIPE TO USE FRESH FRUIT? I KNOW IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER

I have made this many times usually double recipe use a 9 x 13 pan  and don't put butter on bottom but on top and then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar all over the top and bake for about an hour to hour an a half. Always comes out yummy.

How many servings does this recipe make approximately?

I don't know what I did wrong but I didn't care for this cobbler.  I like the old fashioned cobbler like my mother always made.

Mine also turned out quite runny and doughy and I even drained my can of peaches. I baked mine for 45 mins maybe even longer. :/

I have been doing this recipe for years. It IS amazing. the recipe given to me used the heavy syrup 28 oz can of peaches and after placing the peaches on the batter, I pour the liquid over all and bake. Yea Amazing!!!

Super yummy with fresh cherries, touch of cinnamon and nutmeg.  Did have to bake an extra 15 minutes.

Love this recipe! i think i will try for new years, one question, what could i do if i wanted a thicker crust?

I was able to make this recipe in the crock pot and it turned out pretty good! It took 3 hours on low heat, but it was a hit with the in laws!

Mine came out soggy.  Not sure why, made it for my family.  No pleased!

Too much sugar for my family I used 1/2 cup of sugar still too sweet will use less next time but it was well loved.

I made this today,  and I am taking bites in between typing this comment.  This is by far the easiest and tastiest cobbler ever! I believe it was Miss Vera who suggested adoing a bit of almond extract. Im glad I did. Delicious.

Does almond mild work as a milk replacer?

I'm in the process of baking this now for a breakfast treat. I used half milk and half peach juice from the can. Also, I sprinkled cinnamon and nutmeg on 5he too before making. . Another little addition was using brown sugar instead of white sugar.

This is honestly one of the best peach cobbler recipes I’ve ever tried. It’s not overly sweet like most I’ve tried before. The crust is yummy!  I drained the peaches, as instructed. The cooking time was right at one hour. I definitely will keep this recipe and make it anytime I want a peach cobbler because it’s super easy and that good! Thank you for sharing! :)

It is not even common,  but il call it that.  Not enough peaches,  too doughy, none of that stickiness.  Il keep looking for a recipe,  but it was quick.

Delicious and so easy. I tweaked the recipe just a bit to add in nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla as my mother uses in her recipe. I cooked for an hour. I also used the bigger can of peaches. 30 oz I believe.  I would like to try it with fresh peaches next time. Thanks so much for sharing this! :)

Made this and substituted the flour for the Kodiak Cake buttermilk pancake mix and baked for 45 min. AMAZING!

My mom (in her late 80’s) got a similar recipe from her mom. We use a 13x9 dish and 2 cans of peaches, or one large one. It cooks in 30-35 in that pan.

It is a great recipe. I added a teaspoon of ginger. I think the addition of brown sugar to the crust makes a difference. I’ll make this again.

I have used this recipe again and again since discovering it a few months ago. so Delicious, Thank you for recipe!

This did not turn out well. 1) it does not fit in an 8 by 8, it overflowed and spilled butter all over my oven as the dough rose. 2) I baked it for 45 minutes before I had to pull it out and dump it in to a 7 by 11 to stop the smoke from the butter overflowing on the bottom of the oven. Then I put back in. Total bake time was close to 2 hours after that. The dough JUST started to get golden brown. The peach to dough ratio wasn’t great (very doughy), and I even added more peaches (24 oz can instead of 15 oz). The texture wasn’t great (very doughy even with baking 4 x as long at 350). I would leave 1 star but the UI forces you to pick 2.

I really wanted to like this… I followed the recipe completely, but the baking time took a lot longer than it said. Also, the cobbler turned out very “bready”. There was basically no juice. It was really dry. Honestly, if I didn’t have ice cream to mix with it, I would not have eaten it. I would suggest adding the peach juice and probably more peaches as well.

My great aunt  shared this recipe with me over 30 years ago and it's the only way I make peach cobbler.  In fact I'm making it right now.  I don't drain the juice though and I use a 20 oz can.  Also I bake mine at 375 degrees for 55 min or until the top is well browned.
