In a small dish add the flour, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, and kosher salt. Stir to combine. In another small dish add the egg and beat until frothy. In another dish add the panko breadcrumbs.

In an assembly line manner, roll the first avocado slice in the flour (give it a light tap to remove excess flour), then submerge it in the egg wash, followed by the panko bread crumbs. I gently push the panko into the avocado to ensure its evenly coated. Repeat with all of the avocado slices.

Lightly grease the air fryer basket with avocado spray, then place the avocado fries with some space in between, then lightly spray the fries with some avocado oil. Air fry on 390F for 7 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until desired crispiness. Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, will depend on how many batches you have to do. [See note # 3 for oven instructions].

Baked Avocado Fries

avocados

flour

Preheat oven to 450 and grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.&nbsp;Add flour to a zip lock bag. Add avocado slices, seal, and shake to coat avocados in flour.

Remove avocados from the bag and discard the bag with excess flour.

In a small bowl whisk together eggs and water. In a separate bowl whisk together bread crumbs, garlic powder, chili powder, and salt.

Dip flour-coated avocado slices into the egg wash. Next, toss them into the crumb mixture being sure to coat well.

Place coated avocados in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and spray generously with cooking spray. Bake for 10-15 minutes until crispy and browned.

While avocado fries and baking, blend all sauce ingredients together.&nbsp;Serve avocado fries warm with dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Crispy Baked Avocado Fries

Avocados, ripe but still slightly firm

Vegan Chipotle Mayo, for dipping (Optional)

Flour

Cornmeal,

Paprika

Salt

Gluten-Free Flour*

½ tsp Garlic Powder

Preheat the Oven to 475F, if you are using it. Add all of the ingredients for the Dry Mix into a small bowl and mix well.

Next, add the Gluten-Free Flour, Garlic Powder, Salt, and 1/2 cup of Non-Dairy Milk to a separate small bowl. Mix to combine, adding extra liquid as necessary. The Wet Mix should have the consistency of a pancake batter once finished (don&#8217;t make it too thin!)

Cut each Avocado in half lengthwise, then use your fingers to peel the outer skin of the Avocado off. Once you have finished, cut each Avocado half into 4 equal pieces. You should have 8 pieces total for each Avocado.

Using separate hands, dunk each Avocado slice into the Wet Mix, let the excess drip off, and then place it into the dry mix and coat evenly. (Note: I like to &#8220;pick up&#8221; a small handful of breadcrumbs before I place the Avocado into the dry mix, and then sprinkle those on top of the Avocado to help coat it more efficiently)

Oven

Place all of the Avocado slices on a greased or lined baking tray and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, flip each of the slices, and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes.

Air-Fryer

Spray the bucket with a good coating of nonstick cooking spray, otherwise the Fries will stick. Then, place the Avocado slices into the container so they do not touch (you will need to do multiple batches). Bake each batch at 340F for 17-19 minutes; you do not need to flip the slices.

Serve with Vegan Chipotle Mayo, or as desired. These are best consumed immediately, though they can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

I loved this recipe!! I ended up cutting the avocado fries into fourths once they were out of the oven and mixing the pieces with rice and vegan chipotle sauce. I also tried this again but with brussel sprouts and it tasted good as well. Thank you so much!

Crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle, these avocado fries are a delicious appetizer or snack! To take them over the top, serve them with chipotle sauce, vegan ranch dressing, or chipotle ranch dressing for dipping.

Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium-sized shallow dish, stir together the panko, coriander, cumin, and salt. Place the flour in a small bowl and place the egg in a separate small bowl.

Cut the avocados lengthwise into 8 slices and peel the skins. Dip each slice in the flour, flipping to coat and shaking off any excess, then dip into the egg, and then the panko mixture.

Place onto the baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Slice avocado into thick wedges/slices, about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick. I was able to get around 14 slices per avocado.

If baking fries, preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. If not baking, skip this step and move on to the next step.

Optional step: to cut some of the bitterness that occurs when the avocado is cooked, I like to coat the avocados in lemon juice and also squeeze more fresh lemon juice over the avocados after they are done cooking. If the bitterness doesn&#x27;t bother you, you can skip this step. Otherwise, add avocado slices to a bowl. Squeeze lemon juice over avocados. Gently toss avocado until they are evenly coated in lemon juice.

Assemble your coating ingredients. In a small bowl add whisked egg. Add almond flour and cheese to food processor and pulse until evenly mixed and parmesan cheese resembles coarse grains of sand. Pour into a medium bowl.

Line the part of your work station where you will be coating the avocado with parchment paper. Spoon a small amount of breading onto the parchment paper (just enough to cover the bottom of an avocado slice).

Dip an avocado slice in the egg wash. After it is fully coated, shake it a few times, making sure to shake off any excess egg drippings back into the egg bowl before adding it to the breading. The reason for doing this is that you don&#x27;t want the egg drippings going into the breading. The moisture will cause the breading to clump and they will no longer stick.

Place the avocado slice onto the small mound of breading, applying a little pressure so those breading sticks to the bottom of the avocado.

Wipe your hand that was holding the avocado so that your hand is also dry before touching the breading. Sprinkle breading over the surface of the avocado, until it is coated in crumbs. Use your fingers to gently press the breading onto the avocado so that it sticks. This works better than rolling the avocado in breading.

Carefully set the avocado slice onto your prepared baking sheet if baking or into the air fryer basket if you are using the air fryer. Repeat with remaining avocado slices. Make sure to place avocado fries in a single layer in basket or on baking sheet so they do not overlap or touch.

Spray surface of avocado fries with cooking oil spray. Oven: bake in preheated oven until coating is crispy, about 25 minutes. Air Fryer: set temperature of air fryer to 375°F and cook for about 10 minutes or until coating is dark golden brown and crispy.

If desired, squeeze fresh lemon juice onto fries. Serve immediately while still crispy. I served mine with spicy mayonnaise which I made by mixing mayonnaise with hot sauce. I also garnished with some fresh cilantro.
