The BEST Hamburgers in the Oven - With a TRICK!

beef patties (I use 1lb. of ground beef to make 4 patties)

salt (as desired - see blog post for tips)

pepper (as desired - see blog post for tips)

yellow American cheese (if desired)

hamburger buns

aluminum foil

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and spray baking dish with non-stick cooking spray

Generously season one side of the burgers with salt and pepper

Place burger patties in baking dish, spice side down.

Sprinkle more salt and pepper on each hamburger (or use a preferred seasoning) if you like!

Bake in oven for 25 minutes.

If desired, place one slice of cheese on each burger and bake an additional minute or until cheese has melted.

Build each burger (without toppings) on a bun and wrap each burger in aluminum foil. (Just enough to wrap the burger completely.

Place back in oven for 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to melt in and for the bun to get warm and toasty!

Serve and top with any toppings desired!

These baked hamburgers only take 3 simple ingredients with easy clean up. They&#039;re so easy to make, hearty and flavorful. Perfect for those days that you don&#039;t feel like firing up the grill.

Tablespoon BBQ sauce ((or steak sauce))

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Then place a cooling rack on top of the foil wrapped pan.Combine the ground beef, BBQ sauce and hamburger seasoning in a medium-sized bowl. Mix just until combined with your hands and shape into 4 patties about 1/2-inch thick. Make a well in your patties with your thumb to prevent from bulging.

Cook

Place burgers on the rack and cook for 15 minutes, or until juices run clear and the internal temperature reaches 155°F. Top with cheese slices, if desired.

Serve

Serve hamburgers on buns with your favorite toppings.

Heat

Heat oven to broil (high) and set the oven rack to the upper-middle position.

Line

Line a cast iron grill pan or baking sheet with foil.

Shape

Divide the meat into four 4-ounce portions. Very gently, and without overworking the meat, form each portion into 4 loose balls. Place one ball on a dessert plate or other flat surface and gently press it down to make a disc about ½-¾ inch thick (your personal choice). Now gently turn the disc around while slightly pressing an indentation around the edge (kind of like a moat right inside the burger’s edge). This will keep the burger from developing a mound in the middle and your burger will remain flat while cooking. Place the burger on the prepared pan and repeat the process with the remaining portions of beef.

Season

Season both sides of each burger generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, and place the burgers in the oven.

Broil

Broil for 4 minutes, or until the top has browned and beginning to char.

Flip

Flip the burgers over and broil until the center reads 155°F internally, about 3-4 minutes longer.

Top each burger with a slice of your favorite cheese, if desired, and cook just until the cheese melts.

Transfer

Transfer the burgers to a cooling rack and tent with foil to allow time for the internal temperature to reach 160°F.

Serve the burgers on toasted buns and top with the condiments of your choice.
