bone-in fully-cooked, spiral-cut ham

pineapple tidbits (,

brown sugar

cinnamon

cloves

Remove ham from refrigerator 1-2 hours before baking, to allow it to come to room temperature. 

Make Glaze: Meanwhile, make the glaze. In a saucepan combine pineapple tidbits, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until mixture has thickened.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Remove ham from packaging and throw away the glaze packet and the plastic disk that covers the bone. 

Glaze ham: Place the ham flat/cut side down, in a deep baking dish or roasting pan. I like to line my pan with aluminum foil to make for easier clean-up. Brush just a few spoonfuls of the glaze onto the ham, all over the outside. Reserve the remaining glaze for later. Cover the ham tightly with a tent of aluminum foil. This will help keep the ham from drying out.

Bake at 300 degrees F for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 110 degrees. Note, the ham is already cooked, so we’re just just trying to reheat it. 

Remove the ham from the oven and remove foil tent (set it aside for later). Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees. Brush the remaining glaze all over the ham. Return to the oven and continue to bake for another 15 minutes.

Rest: Remove from oven, tent with foil and allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.

This brown sugar glazed spiral ham combines the shortcut of a precooked spiral ham with a homemade honey brown sugar glaze that&#39;s flavored with orange, cloves, and cinnamon.

Brown Sugar Glazed Spiral Ham

7-10 pound precooked spiral ham (see notes below)

Dijon mustard

orange juice

brown sugar (packed)

honey

soy sauce

corn starch

water

Preheat oven to 325f and set the oven rack to the middle level.

Remove the plastic button/disc from the bottom of the ham and place the ham flat side down in a large baking dish or roasting pan.  Cover very tightly with foil and bake for 12-15 minutes per pound.  Most spiral hams shouldn&#39;t take longer than about 90 minutes to reach a 140f internal temp.  For accurate temperature, use an oven-safe thermometer.

Meanwhile, make the glaze.  Place all of the glaze ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.  Once boiling lower to a simmer.  If a thicker glaze is desired, add a slurry of cornstarch and stir until thickened (about 1 minute).  Turn off the heat and let the glaze cool.

Remove the ham once it has reached an internal temperature of 140f.  Turn the oven temp to 425f and baste the ham with half of the glaze.  Take your time to get the glaze between all of the layers of ham.  Return the ham back to the oven and bake uncovered for 15-20 more minutes or until the ham has browned and the glaze has caramelized.

Slice the ham and serve on a platter with more of the remaining glaze on the side.  Enjoy!

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (160 degrees C). Place the spiral ham cut side down in a large roasting pan lined with foil for easy cleanup.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, pineapple juice, cloves, and melted butter. Let it get to a slow boil, then turn down the heat and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Brush half of the glaze over the ham, covering it evenly. Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake on the lowest rack in the oven, for 10-12 minutes per pound, about 1 1/2 -2 hours, until warmed through.

Remove the foil and brush the remaining glaze over the ham. Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and bake for another 12-15 minutes, uncovered, to allow the glaze to caramelize. Once the ham reaches internal temperature of 140 degrees F, remove from oven.

Let the ham rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Slice and serve.
