Smoky, spicy and sweet, these Vegetarian Baked Beans start with a base of slow roasted caramelized onion, carrot and garlic, then BBQ sauce and fire roasted tomatoes are added to make up this saucy, mouthwatering recipe. This recipe is vegan and vegetarian. Smoky Vegetarian BBQ Baked Beans

C (200 grams) Dry Beans

C (260 grams) Purple Onion (about

C (215 grams) Carrots (sliced, about 4 medium)

Cloves Garlic (large, minced)

Red Chili Flakes ((if you

tsp Cumin (ground)

tsp Smoked Paprika

tsp Fine Sea Salt

Tbs Coconut Oil (unrefined cold-pressed, or olive oil)

C (350 grams) Fire-Roasted Tomatoes (crushed, one can)

C (275 grams) Smoky Bourbon Homemade BBQ Sauce

If using canned beans, drain them and move on to #2. Otherwise, soak dry beans overnight, or at least 8 hours, making sure water covers the beans by 3&quot;. Drain and rinse the beans. In a medium saucepan, add beans and enough fresh water to cover beans by 3&quot;. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Turn heat to medium-low and simmer for about 30-60 minutes. Start checking the beans at around 30 minutes. The beans are done when they are tender. (How long it takes for the beans to cook depends on the age and type of the beans used). Drain and set aside.

Preheat oven to 350F (177C).

In a large roasting pan, add the onion, carrots, garlic, chili flakes, cumin, paprika, salt and coconut or olive oil. Stir. Roast for 20 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes to evenly distribute the coconut or olive oil.

To the onion mixture, add the cooked beans, fire-roasted tomatoes, and BBQ sauce. Gently stir.

Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 45 minutes. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before sharing.

Store leftovers in a covered container for up to two days or freeze for up to two weeks.  When reheating, add additional BBQ sauce or water to thin the beans as they tend to thicken.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Dice up the pepper and onions and then mix it in with the ground beef and cook over medium heat until the beef is done. Drain off any excess grease.

Once the beef is done add all the ingredients BUT the bacon in and stir really well.

Pour the baked bean mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish or another large pan. Then top the casserole with chopped raw bacon.

Bake for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. You want to ensure the bacon is fully cooked.

Then allow to cool a few minutes and dish up this thick and delicious baked beans with ground beef recipe.

Preheat the oven to 400℉.

In an 8 to 9-inch round or square baking dish, combine the beans, BBQ sauce, and maple syrup. Stir until well combined.

Cover the dish with foil or a lid and bake for 40 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.

Remove it from the oven, remove the foil or lid, then sprinkle it with the sliced green onions.

Serve and enjoy!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium-sized skillet, saute chopped onions and diced bacon until the bacon is cooked but is not crispy and the onions are translucent.

Drain cooked bacon and onions on a paper towel.

Place beans in a large oven-proof pot.

Add cooked onions and bacon, yellow mustard, brown sugar, and molasses. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.

Place a lid over the pot.

Place the pot in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until the beans are warmed.

U can save even more money by using pork n beans.  Cook onion and bacon.  Add beans and bottled BBQ sauce.. awesome.  And real quick

This is Stephanie Manley with CopyKat.com. I want to show you how you can
make easy barbeque baked beans using a few simple ingredients. We're going
to simply begin by chopping up an onion. I'm going to use a white onion
here. I like them because they're not quite as hot as the yellow onions. I
want to go ahead and chop up about half of this onion. And to this I am
going to saute in a pan about eight ounces of bacon, and I just kind of
want to give this a chop as well.

Now we're going to begin this recipe by simply sauteing the onions and the
bacon together, and then we're going to get a large pot. We're going to
dump in two cans of pork and beans. And then we're going to add in our
sauteed onions and bacon. We're also going to add a little bit of mustard,
some brown sugar, and some molasses.

Now I always like to begin by sauteing the bacon first. I just want to
render a little bit of the grease before I go ahead and add in the onion.
Now you don't have to cook this all the way through. You can simply cook it
until the onions are translucent. This way, when we add everything into the
beans, all that flavor is going to be captured and remain in the beans, and
that's exactly where you want this flavor.

So as you can see, this is really, really easy to put together. Now you can
go ahead and cook this whole thing on the stovetop, or you can simply put
it in the oven and heat it for about an hour or so until everything gets
all nice and warm. Okay, so to a pan I'm going to add two large cans of
pork and beans--the cheaper the better, because we're adding all of the
flavoring in ourselves. And you can see I'm just adding in all of those
nice cooked bacon and onions and putting those in there.

And now I'm going to go ahead and add about a quarter cup of brown sugar,
and I really like to use the dark brown sugar because it has more molasses
in it, and I think it has more flavor. And then we are going to add in a
couple tablespoons of yellow mustard. This is the type of mustard you would
normally stick on a hamburger. This adds a nice little bit of flavor.

I'm also going to add in a couple tablespoons of molasses, and then I'm
going to go ahead and give this a nice stir. And again, you can either
leave this on the stovetop to cook until everything's nice and warm, or you
can put this in the oven and bake it for a couple of hours and that's it.
That's all you need to do to make fabulous barbeque baked beans. Everyone
is going to wonder how you did it. But you know what? It wasn't hard at
all.
