Easy BBQ Chicken Naan Pizza (Copycat California Pizza Kitchen Recipe!)

naan flatbreads

BBQ sauce (any kind will do)

chicken (such as rotisserie)

red onion (sliced)

mozzarella cheese (shredded)

cilantro (chopped)

Preheat oven to 450 degrees and place the oven rack in the lower half of the oven.

Mix 2-3 tablespoons of the barbecue sauce with the chicken.

Place the naan on a rimmed baking sheet. Top each naan flatbread with the remaining BBQ sauce, followed by the cheese, chicken and BBQ sauce mixture, and sliced onion.

Bake for 10-15 minutes in the lower part of the oven, or until cheese is melted and crust is browned.

Top each pizza with one tablespoon of chopped fresh cilantro.

I made this recipe last night. I make pizza almost every Saturday evening as we have very few good pizza places to choose from. 

I followed the recipe...mostly. I forgot to use a cast iron skillet, as I said, I make pizza most weekends, I am in the habit of using a pizza steel and forgot the skillet step. 

I followed the rest of the recipe and it was GREAT. As I said I often make pizza and was looking for something different. This was it. A far enough departure from the standard pepperoni - sausage - usual topping pizza. 

I highly recommend this recipe and will be saving it to bookmark the site so I can make this again.

Time to ditch pizza delivery! You can make an even better-tasting pizza yourself with only a few ingredients and little prep time, and it goes way beyond just plain cheese and pepperoni. This barbecue chicken pizza packs a whole lot of flavor for pizza night thanks to ingredients like chicken, barbecue sauce, shredded mozzarella, red onion and cilantro. And it all starts with Pillsbury™ refrigerated classic pizza crust, so you don’t have worry about any fussy dough prep.

BBQ Chicken Pizza

(13.8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Classic Crust Pizza Crust

chicken breast

barbecue sauce

mozzarella cheese (8 oz)

red onion

Heat oven to 400°F for dark or nonstick pan (425°F for all other pans). Spray 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking spray.     

Unroll dough in pan; starting at center, press dough into 15x10-inch rectangle. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Meanwhile, in medium bowl, mix chicken and barbecue sauce until chicken is coated with sauce.

Sprinkle 1 cup of the cheese over partially baked crust. Spoon and carefully spread chicken mixture evenly over cheese. Top with red onion and remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake 8 to 11 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with cilantro. To serve, cut into 6 rows by 3 rows.

Barbeque Chicken Pizza

Dough pizza

chicken (, shredded rotisserie or about 2 chicken breasts)

mozzarella cheese

onion

cilantro (to taste)

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F and prebake your&nbsp;pizza dough for 6 minutes.

Spread a thin layer of bbq sauce on top of the pre-baked pizza crust. Then top with a thin layer of mozzarella cheese and sliced red onion.&nbsp;

Add shredded rotisserie chicken to a bowl and cover it with a few tablespoons of bbq sauce. Toss to combine. Spread chicken pieces over the pizza.&nbsp;

Sprinkle another thin layer of cheese on top of the pizza, and add chopped cilantro, to taste.&nbsp;

Bake at 450 F for 10 -15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

BBQ Chicken Rolls Ups

3.8 oz can refrigerated pizza crust (or similar size)

bbq sauce, any brand works

oz canned chicken, drained (or any type of cooked shredded chicken)

green onions

cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 425 F. Unroll the pizza crust on a large surface. Spread the bbq sauce over the crust and sprinkle with the chicken, onions, and cheese.

Roll the dough up like a cinnamon roll, starting from the long side of the rectangle, then slice into 3-inch slices.

Place onto a greased sheet pan and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy!

BBQ Chicken Pizza Stuffed Spaghetti Squash

spaghetti squash

Stubbs BBQ Sauce

optional: garnish with fresh basil

Cut spaghetti squash in half. Scoop on the seeds. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and rub into the squash. Place squash cut side down on a baking sheet.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the squash is tender when poked with a fork.

Remove from oven. Using a fork gently scrap the squash into spaghetti strands.

Top each spaghetti squash half with 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup rotisserie chicken and sliced red onion.

Place in broiler for 5-6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly browned.

Garnish with sliced fresh basil and serve.
