Beef and Beans a simple recipe made with a can of baked beans, hamburger, onion, brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard. This is a family favorite and it served whenever there is a family gathering.

Beef and Beans

hamburger

onion (finely chopped)

yellow mustard

ketchup

brown sugar

Worcestershire sauce

beans (Store-bought

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

In a Dutch oven add the hamburger and chopped onion. Cook over medium heat until the hamburger is no longer pink and the onion is tender. Drain any excess grease.

Add the mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce and stir in.

Add the can of beans and stir in.

Place the beans in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven give a final stir and serve.

This is an excellent recipe. It also goes great on top of plain white rice, to make this into a meal and stretch it further. I make this a few times a year after a family friend made it for us. Although he used spicy brown mustard in his, it is excellent both ways and I now add a combination of spicy brown, and regular mustard when I make it sometimes. :)

This sounds like comfort food at its best!  I can see the 'doctored up beans' name, and it makes perfect sense.  I'm thinking this would be delicious piled on a super soft hamburger bun...kinda like a sloppy joe!
