Very good recipe. But at the end meat needs more cooking. So I let it simmer for 30 min adding a little of water to it every 10 min to make sure all the sauce does not dry up. It turned out great! Also make the noodles close to the end, so it is fresh.

Where in the directions do you put the beef and mushrooms back in?  Before or after simmering?

I made this for myself & family for Mother's Day. It was very tender and flavorful.

This is  very similar to my recipe only in that I flour the sirloin strips, then brown in 1 TLB peanut oil & set aside.  I also, do not use tomato paste, mustard nor worcestershire and I simmer the meat for at least an hour after adding the beef broth to the onions & garlic halves; and it is still very, very good.  I also end it with a flour-slurry (rather than cornstarch) and (off stove:) light sour cream. Must have toasted garlic bread to sop up the yummy gravy.

This recipe is just terrible. I followed the instructions and the sauce would not thicken and was really "cornstarchy."I used top sirloin and only cooked it for half the time that was suggested and it turned out very tough. My son started eating it and then got up from the table and asked "Whose idea was this?" Never again.

Did not enjoy the flavor of this recipe, doesn't taste like any other beef stroganoff I've ever had. First Delish recipe I won't be saving.

Cook you Chuck all day in slow cooker. Much better results.

This Beef Stroganoff Is The Hearty Winter Meal We Can't Get Enough Of

Authentically Russian Beef Stroganoff cooked in a creamy mushroom sauce. 

Best Beef Stroganoff

tbsp oil

onion (thinly sliced)

lbs crimini mushrooms/chestnut mushrooms (sliced)

beef

brandy

salt

pepper (freshly ground)

beef stock

bay leaf

mustard

parsley

Heat oil and butter in a heavy skillet and cook onions and mushrooms over medium-low heat for 7-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Add cut steak to the same skillet and quickly fry over high heat for 3-5 minutes.

Add brandy and continue cooking until alcohol burns off, add stock, mustard, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula to release all the brown bits, they will add much flavour to the sauce.

Bring mushrooms and onions back to the pan and cook for 3 minutes until everything is heated through and bubbling.

Stir in sour cream over low heat to prevent the sauce from splitting. Sprinkle parsley and take off the heat.

Serve with mounds of mashed potatoes or rice.

Ground Beef Stroganoff

onion

garlic, (minced)

white mushrooms, (sliced)

Salt

red pepper ((Optional))

tbsp all-purpose flour

beef broth

sherry

Dijon mustard

Worcestershire

sour cream

Prepare the wide egg&nbsp;noodles per package instructions.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink.

Add the onions and mushrooms to the ground beef and cook about 5 minutes until onions are soft.

Then add the garlic and stir for about a minute.

Add salt, pepper, and, if you like, crushed red pepper and stir.

Drizzle a tablespoon of Worcestershire over the ground beef, onions, garlic, and mushrooms.

Add the flour and stir.

Pour in the sherry, beef broth and rest of the Worcestershire and let it simmer.

Cook for 5 minutes or so to let it thicken. Add the Dijon Mustard.

Remove from heat and add the sour cream.&nbsp;Stir so that the sour cream is evenly distributed.

Serve over cooked wide egg noodles. Enjoy!
