In a liquid measuring cup or small bowl, combine the warm milk, warm water, melted butter, and sugar.

Sprinkle the yeast evenly over the wet ingredients, stir to combine, and let stand for 5 minutes, until foamy

In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt, and stir to combine. Beat 1 egg, then add to the bloomed yeast mixture. Pour the wet ingredients into the flour and use a knife to stir until the mixture just comes together and forms a dough. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth. Add more flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking. To test if it’s done, tear off a small piece of dough and stretch into a thin layer. If the dough doesn’t rip, it’s ready. Or, press a finger into the dough to see if it bounces back.

Lightly grease a large glass bowl with oil. Add the dough, cover with plastic wrap, and let rest for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough, then turn out onto a floured surface. Knead for a few more minutes, just until the dough is smooth, about 2 minutes.

Divide the dough into 16 equal balls, roughly the size of tangerines.

Knead the balls, gathering the edges of the dough toward the center to make a taut, round ball with a smooth top.

Place the rolls on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 30 minutes.

Beat the remaining egg in a small bowl. Uncover the rolls and brush with the egg wash. Lightly sprinkle the rolls with sea salt.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the rolls have lightly browned and doubled in size.

These were amazing! I had my husband work on these for Christmas dinner while I made other things and he griped at the number of dishes this requires but the end product was great! He cut into 16 rolls instead of 15 because that's much easier to make them even sized rolls, just keep halving your dough.

I've made these twice now in a weeks span and I'm about to make my third batch tonight because my kids keep eating through them like candy. I usually love changing up a recipe to really satisfy some specific craving someone in the house has but these are perfect as is in our book! They are easy enough to make for a weeknight dinner but taste delicious enough to compliment a fancy feast. These might have to be my new go to.

I tried this tonight with dinner. It didnt turn out soft and fluffy and was more like a biscuit then a bun. Would try it with a bread flour maybe instead of all purpose.

I made these tonight and they were GREAT. I followed the recipe exactly, except I ended up microwaving my milk for an additional 20 seconds after using a thermometer to check the temp after the first round of 40 seconds. I also covered the rolls with tinfoil at 20 minutes to keep the tops from getting too dark while they finished baking. The only thing I would change next time is maybe putting a little bit more cheese in the dough, and maybe some chopped garlic as well. Overall an amazing recipe and very easy to follow for inexperienced-bread bakers like myself!

This Sweet Dinner Rolls Recipe makes soft &amp; fluffy rolls that are so easy to make from scratch! Baking with yeast can be easy, and this dinner roll recipe will be one that you will make time and time again.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

2 1/4 – 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

(2-1/4 tsp.) packet Fleischmann’s® RapidRise® Yeast

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 cup milk (whole, 2%, 1%

1/4 cup water

Combine 1 cup flour, dry yeast and salt in bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and stir until blended. Combine milk, water, butter, and honey in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments until very warm but not hot to the touch (120°F &#8211; 130°F). Add to flour mixture.

Mix for 2 minutes on medium speed, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Add in 1/2 cup more flour mix for 2 more minutes on high speed. Stir in just enough of the remaining flour (3/4 to 1 cup) so that the dough will form into a ball.

Replace the paddle attachment for the dough hook attachment and mix on medium speed for 6-8 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic and springs back when lightly pressed with 2 fingers. Alternately you can do this step by hand, kneading the dough on a lightly floured surface for 6-8 minutes. Cover with a towel and let rest for 10 minutes.

Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls using your hands. Place in greased 8-inch round or square pan. Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise in a warm place, until they&#8217;re doubled in size, about 30 minutes.

Bake rolls in preheated 375ºF oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

For the topping combine the butter and honey in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds until butter is melted. Mix together and brush the melted honey butter on warm rolls.

These are the best jumbo dinner rolls that my mom has been making for years. The dough is extra soft and tender thanks to the addition of butter, milk, and eggs! So tasty!

Mom's Jumbo Dinner Rolls

Heat the milk and butter together in the microwave to scald the milk and melt the butter, 2 to 3 minutes. Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine milk/butter mixture, water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Let yeast rest for 5 minutes.

Add half the flour, and mix for 3 to 5 minutes.

Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix until incorporated.

Add the rest of the flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. The dough should be soft and elastic, but not sticky. Knead with your mixer or by hand for 5 minutes.

Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 30 to 60 minutes.

After rising time has passed, divide the dough into 32 pieces. Roll each piece into a round roll, and place it on a greased, rimmed baking sheet (that is 13x18 inches).

Once all the dough is shaped, cover the rolls, and let them rise for another 30 to 60 minutes. The sides of the rolls should be touching each other before you bake them, that's how you know they are ready. If your house is cold it might take a longer for them to rise this much. Once the rolls have at least doubled in size, bake at 400 degrees F. for 14 to 18 minutes, or until the tops are nice and golden.

Remove from the oven, and butter the tops of the rolls while still hot. Serve warm or at room temperature.

I made these for Thanksgiving dinner, at the last moment and for the first time.. They were absolutely AMAZING!!  Light, fluffy and oh so tasty..  I will for sure make these rolls again..  Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe!!

This is my go to recipe. They taste like fresh rolls from a bakery, no joke they are perfect. They also freeze well! Since I nailed it down, I've been making them often. I have great success with halving the recipe and making sure to leave a little room between them so they cook evenly. When I put them too close together the middle rolls don't get cooked enough. Thanks so much for this awesome recipe!

I made half the recipe. I shaped the dough into 12 to yield a dozen big rolls. They were the best tasting rolls…yeasty,  tender, and not dry.

Best dinner rolls I've made in years! Love this recipe! Printing it out to save for later. I made half of the dough into dinner rolls for Thanksgiving and put the other 1/2 in the refrigerator. I used the second 1/2 of the dough for cinnamon rolls the next day. YUMMY!!
