I made this tonight but added garbanzo beans instead of corn. Garlic powder, an Anaheim pepper, two jalapenos (one with seeds) some Italian dressing, salt, and the rest of the recipe. It turned out great 👍

Made this as a Super Bowl snack for my husband, who’s on a vegan diet for health reasons. The only hot sauce I found in the fridge was Tabasco Scorpion so I might’ve overdone the heat a bit. He loved it though.

This is definitely "delish." I have made this tasty recipe too many times to count, and it's always very enjoyable and healthy at the same time!

I make one similar to this but I dice an
avocado or two in it.  Use green onion instead of red.  Salt and pepper and garlic to Taste and a splash of red wine vinegar.  The avocado is a must add!

And practically required to make this once a week!

I make one very similar -- That's the marvel of this recipe, you don't like jalapeno, you leave it out.  This is very much a custom recipe.  I like at least 6 different types of beans, mild chilis, sweet corn and shoepeg corn  as well as green peppers and other ingredients.  I use oil and vinegar along with a favorite Italian dressing.  I add so much in this salad that I have to pull out my largest metal mixing bowl !  There is ALWAYS enough to send home with guests.

Made it according to the recipe! Super delicious! Wondering why it doesn’t call to refrigerate for all the seasoning to mix through?

Add all ingredients to the bowl of a food processor. I like to add in the jalapeños, onion and garlic first and then the cilantro and tomatoes, so the tomatoes do not get too liquid-y. Pulse about 10 or so times and until all ingredients are combined and diced, but be sure to stop before the salsa becomes too watery. However, you can pulse longer if you do like your salsa with more liquid.

Taste the salsa and add more ingredients as desired. I would advise stirring in the extra ingredients, not pulsing in the food processor. The salsa will become too watery, quickly.

Transfer to a bowl and enjoy!

I prefer to refrigerate salsa for 1 day prior to serving to allow the flavors to intensify. Salsa will keep for about 1 week in an airtight container or jar in the fridge; however, it&#39;s never lasted that long in this household.

Remove the skins from the tomatoes. by slicing an 'X' in the skin at the bottom of each tomato. Then place the tomatoes, working in batches as needed in boiling water for 1 minute. Then remove the tomatoes and immediately place the in an ice water bath. The skins should come off easily with your fingers. Slice the tomatoes in half and remove most of the seed core. Using a wide mouth funnel, ladle the cooked salsa into clean, sterile jars leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Place a plastic utensil down the inside of the jars to remove any air bubbles.  Wipe rims of jars with a damp, clean cloth and place lids on top. Secure the lid with the band.

If the jars did not seal properly (the lid can be pushed in and bounces back up, place the salsa in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks.

Combine all ingredients except reserved tomato juice in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse on and off until all ingredients are finely chopped and salsa is desired consistency. We like it a bit chunky, but if you like a smoother salsa, just keep pulsing. If you like a thinner salsa, add the reserved tomato juice and pulse one more time.

Taste for seasoning and adjust as needed. Serve with chips, tacos or other Mexican entrees, as a baked potato or omelet topping, soup garnish, etc.

Taste one piece of finely diced Jalapeno to determine the spiciness level. Add in the amount of Jalapeno based on your personal preference (we added roughly 3 tbsp). Mix well.Squeeze juice from 1 lime and mix well.Season with Kosher salt &amp; fresh ground black pepper. Mix well. Taste and adjust accordingly. Make sure everything is balanced. Add in the juice from another lime if necessary.

Serve Salsa: Serve on top of tacos or as a side dish. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

I love this salsa recipe because it's simple, really easy to remember,  just 5 ingredients: jalapeño, garlic, onion, tomatoes, cilantro.All chopped in small pieces..You have to experiment with the lime,  salt and pepper for taste. But chicken tacos are great..together..Thanks for this small dish. Salsa!

Cilantro is a common ingredient in Mexican dishes. While for 90% of the population it apparently has a pleasant herbal taste, 10% of the population GENETICALLY is able to taste a chemical compound in cilantro the others cannot. For us, cilantro tastes like SOAP. This aldehyde we taste in cilantro is also found in soap! Any quantity of cilantro in food makes it unacceptable to me/us. When creating a dish containing cilantro, would it be possible to suggest alternative herbs/seasonings which would result in a close approximation to cilantro's taste without the 'soapyness'?
