These baby led weaning (BLW) protein sheet pan pancake fingers are perfect for new eaters, toddlers, kids, and adults, alike! They’re amazing first foods, great for on the go snacks, and packed with great nutrition you will feel good about serving your family.

BLW Protein Sheet Pan Pancake Fingers

oat flour (gluten free if needed)

flaxmeal

½ tsp baking powder

cinnamon

½ cup high fat cottage cheese (ideally low sodium)

vanilla

eggs (beaten)

large mashed very ripe bananas

berries (halved if large)

tbsp hemp hearts

Preheat oven to 425 F and spray a 19”x 12” baking sheet with cooking spray.

To a large bowl, mix together the oat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, flax and salt.

To a food processor, puree the cottage cheese until very smooth. Add that to the dry ingredients, along with the vanilla, eggs, and banana.

Spread into the prepared baking sheet and top with berries and hemp hearts.

Bake at 425 for 12 minutes, turning the pan around half way through the cooking period to ensure it cooks evenly.

Cut into strips so it's easy for baby to pick up and eat.

Transfer the oats to a food processor and process until it reaches a flour-like consistency. Add the cottage cheese and banana and puree until smooth. Add the infant cereal, peanut butter, eggs, baking powder and cinnamon and puree just until it comes together and looks smooth.

Stir in the blueberries.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high and add the butter or coconut oil. Spoon out 2 tablespoon pancakes and cook on both sides until golden brown. Allow to cool before freezing or transferring extras to the fridge.

Full fat Greek yogurt (for drizzling)

To a bowl, mix together the oat flour, baby cereal, banana, ricotta, eggs, coconut oil, apple, coconut, baking powder, lemon zest, cinnamon and a pinch of salt.

Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease. Add 1 cup of batter to the centre of the waffle iron and cook according to manufacturers directions.

To serve, top off the waffles with a drizzle of greek yogurt and a sprinkle of berries, if desired.

Baby Meatballs for Baby Led Weaning (High Iron)

iron fortified baby oat

½ cup breastmilk or milk

lb beef

egg (beaten)

oregano

½ tsp ground pepper

salt (optional

Preheat oven to 400 F and put the baking sheet in the oven to preheat.

In a large bowl, mix together the baby cereal and milk and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

Add in the meat, cheese, egg, oregano, pepper, and salt (optional). Mix until combined then roll into 1 tbsp meatballs. Grease the baking sheet. Place on the baking sheet and spritz with a bit more oil in an oil atomizer. Bake for 15 minutes or until it reaches 165 F, flipping once half way through.

Allow to cool slightly before serving to baby, or transfer to a freezer bag for later eating.

Cheesy High Iron Baby Meatballs

These Sweet Potato Fritters with lentils and kale are a fantastic high iron first food for baby led weaning, especially for vegetarian and vegan babies.

Sweet Potato Fritters with Lentils &amp; Kale (Vegan BLW Recipe)

baby kale

potato

garlic (minced)

cumin

tsp sweet paprika

flax egg (1 tbsp ground flax with 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk)

gluten free oats

tbsp extra virgin olive oil

To a food processor, add the lentils, garlic, kale, sweet potato, cumin, paprika, and flax egg. Pulse for 3-5 minutes until fully combined, scrapping down the sides if needed.

Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in the oats. If you find the mixture is too wet to shape, add more oats 1 tbsp at a time.

Shape into long finger like &quot;sticks&quot; and place on a baking sheet lined with a silpat or baking sheet.

Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet, and pan-fry on all sides until golden brown. Fritters might be delicate when flipping so use a spatula and carefully flip them.

Serve at room temperature.
